Hi everyone i've been off the game for quite a bit and i'm returning to it after the seraphon changes, can someone help me with a list if possible? For now I have 15 saurus guards 1 bastiladon 1 saurus eternity warden 1 skink starpriest Anything helps
Welcome back to Lustria. If that is your entire collection then I say you already have your list. I would run it as Koatl's Claw.
So you think Coalesced Koatl's Claw would be good with this? Also if you could what units would you add to this, other than the eternal starhost battalion? (Like more guards or other types of units entirely, or even an endless spell, because where i'm going to play they usually use 1500 points) Thank you for the warm cold-blooded welcome back and thank you for your time
The old eternal Starhost battalion is gone. Which is really to bad. Saurus Warrior and Knights pretty solid again. Terradons and Salamanders are also fantastic.
Sad to hear that that battalion is gone, anyway thank you for your help I'll try to see what i can do to reach the point threshold integrating some of those units, just more questions, should i look to get another leader like a lord kroak or a slann starmaster ? And what about some skinks or another behemoth?
Ok i think i have an idea i've read a little bit of stuff and maybe i could go for Bastiladon 300pts Saurus guardsx15 300pts Skink starpriest 100pts Saurus eternity warden 140pts Slann Starmaster 260pts Salamandersx2 120pts Skink handlersx6 80pts Razordonsx2 120pts which would leave me with 80pts to share unless i use the new Eternal host battalion which is 80 pts exactly but i think it would depend on the objective if i use it or not, any thoughts?
Hey! Your points values are not correct. Bastiladon - 220 Starpriest - 120 Salamanders, Handlers and Razordons all go together now - 80pts for 1 Razor/Sally and 3 handlers.
I would definitely consider a Slann or Kroak. You can use a bunch of the Saurus Guard to tank their wounds (and fills up your battleline slots). Salamanders are the new jam right now. Razordons just don’t cut it. That said, 99% chance they will go up in points with the new GH so will have to see how that shakes out. But a unit of 3 salamanders and a Slann would be a good way to add 500 pts to your list.
My bad I could've sworn those points where updated, thank you for telling me i probably have to rethink the list a little.
no worries. Play around a little, but perhaps hold off any purchases for a few days until the FAQ lands - there should be lots more clarity on certain rules and will put a lot of stuff into shaper focus.
Yeah the Slann is for sure gonna join my ranks or if after i rethink the list there's enough space for a kroak i'll go with him instead. Just a question about razordons vs salamanders where i should just use salamanders. Why is that? From what i've seen razordons are pretty good against behemoths, flying and charging units, are salamanders that much better under every aspect?
Yeah it's probably best if I do wait on it a little, do you happen to know when the FAQ should land more or less?
Salamanders now have 4 shots at 12” range, with -2 rend and D3 damage, with 6’s to hit doing MWs. Razordons are 2D6 shots at 18”, but no rend (unless within 6”) and 1D each. Their melee profiles are both really good, but salamanders get an extra attack with their bites in coalesced. If playing Starborne, you can use the +1 to charge Sacred Asterism, throw down Cogs, buff them with a few skink CAs, teleport them within 9” of an elite unit, shoot 12 shots with your fire, get a 6” charge in, and do another bunch of attacks. It’s a lot of points which will get deleted next turn, but arguably with the right target you can delete much more than their points worth in one fell swoop edit: I am mainly an armchair general, but this is probably going to replace our old Shadowstrike Ripper tactic. The bonus is that you don’t need a batallion and the points values are actually lower than 6 old Rippers. With Dracothions tail you could also drop another unit from the sky, potentially, and while unbuffed, could still do decent work (you can still give them the reroll 1s for shooting CA)
When you start a collection, it should involve a significant amount of oldbloods and scarveterans, both on carnosaurs
Give me a way to make Carnasaurs good in Starborne, and I shall show you magical sparkling murder dinos every day
LoSaT them into the enemy support heroes, give the, a defensive artifact and you have an effective Carnosaur
Suggestions? Assuming we would need to take a Malign Sorcery Artefact here for maximum effect, meaning if you run FoS or DT you need a batallion. Just concerned about the diminishing returns...
not the best one for LoSaT assassinations tho? Since you want to be charging and attacking anyway, and will likely draw in a bruiser Unit that is near the support character... if you can touch the character without allowing activation of other units, then yes, the following turn you can hope to survive for one more attack round
