It's a holy representation of the famous giraffe-bull, the sacred animal that picks the leafs from the highest branches.

What's with the High Elves + Beastmen mix-up?

The big cow men are the spirits of the mountains given physical form.

yep, it's a totally different approach of "give 'em the hammer!"

Created in the image of the stoic creatures that make the mountains their home.

So High Elves now employ "Beastmen" and fight with "Dwarven type" hammers? Strange world this land of AoS is.

I quite like it, it breaks the mold that Elves must almost always be sharp and pointy, so something that is a little more blunt is a nice addition. It also helps the Lumineth create a more unique identity. But i don't understand the "beastmen" argument, the only similarity it has to the beastmen is that it has fur and a cow face.

The scions of the flame look great, and it's kinda funny how the leader guy wields a Flamberge sword just in case you didn't know what their deal was.

And the hooves. Beast face, fur and hooves are pretty much the key distinguishing features of a beastman.

I have to agree with @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl , it seems more Dwarven to me. Not something I would personally consider to be unique.

What I liked about the Battle Cattle the most is that it will make fantastic custom KoSs. Literally quite horny.

mwha, the hammers look good, they're hammers but still elegant. That I don't mind. The cows themselves I don't mind either. They look far more civil than beastmen. Much more calm cattle, far less wild wrothing beast.

However, I can't get over how stupid their helmets look. Their helmets are larger than their torsos for crying out loud. Admittadly, @NIGHTBRINGER might like that I guess, chaos dwarfs in disguise :p

Not to mention the otherworldly mystique given to them, as opposed to the brutish savagery of typical beastmen.

I can get by that as it gives them a Tauren-esque feel. However, given that Warhammer already has Minotaurs in the evil Beastmen faction, GW could have done something different. The models look good, I’m not debating that (apart from their legs perhaps being a bit too long), but Minotaurs don’t fit very well at all with Elves.

Elves are very graceful and elegant creatures, both in the old Warhammer Fantasy and the new Age of Sigmar, and until now always used weapons that possessed the same grace and elegance - swords, spears and very smooth-bladed axes. Smashing someone in the face, on the other hand, is not graceful or elegant way to kill them, even if the hammer itself is the most elegantly designed one in the world. Dwarfs on the other hand are very pragmatic and down-to-earth, and hammers are similarly pragmatic and down-to-earth weapons. They fit Dwarfs so much better.

That’s one of the easiest things in the world to fix, to be honest - make the miniatures, and then cut off the horns and smooth the rough areas down to make it as if they were never there.
