I've submitted this to the rules team for an FAQ question but wondered if anyone here had any evidence either way. My query is that the Scar-veteran on Cold One has the keyword SAURUS SCAR-VETERAN but the requirement for the Firelance is the SCAR-VETERAN keyword so is it eligible for inclusion in the battalion? What I'm looking for is a previous example that shows that keywords can match part of other keywords so it will still count as having SCAR-VETERAN, or if the keyword needs to match verbatim. The section of the core rules on keywords doesn't mention this and I can't find it in any FAQs. Thanks
Thanks for the reply, do you know where there is any evidence for this? The SV on Carnosaur just has the keyword SCAR-VETERAN, I think you're right I'm just trying to find proof.
It is addressed in the Khorne FAQ/Designer Commentary if I remember correctly. I will try to find where it is located and post it later if you haven't already located it.
Was this the one you were thinking of? I saw this one in the Core Rules designer commentary as well but it's not quite the same situation. "Q: Sometimes a keyword will be listed in its singular form in one place and its plural form in another. Are the plural and singular forms both considered to be different keywords? For example, are the Bloodletter keyword and the Bloodletters keyword different keywords?A: No. The singular and plural forms of a keyword are synonymous for rules purposes."
That is one of them. There is another one that talked about tag on phases not being part of the key word. Like Oldblood vs Oldblood on Carnosaur.
