no, guards specificly said in the movement & charge phase. Piling in was allowed. Anyway, that particular rule doesn't exist anymore so it doesn't matter
Played another game against Ossiarch, now against run+charge subfaction. I brought thunderquake and it just wrecked them. By turn 3 I've lost only 30 skinks and some handlers, while my opponent lost 20 horsemen, 5 stakers and arkhan. He was lef with near dead boneshaper, kavalos and 10 mortek. Double turn was decisive, however. I like how the list works and I don't really want to change anything. Maybe, stuff like 5 guard instead of 10 skinks or triumph instead of burning head. Still want to test it against other armies (I kind of figured what to to with ossiarch), but now it is impossible, unfortunately.
Which list is this? I feel bone reapers will have a hard time against us. They don't have great ways of killing our heros and we can easily shut down their magic buffs with kroak.
My list was TQTL, Kroak, Starpriest, Priest, EotG, 40-10-10 skinks, 2x Bastiladon SE, 3xSalamanders, Burning Head. His was Stalliarch, Arkhan, Boneshaper, Kavalos, 2x 10 horsemen, 6x Stalkers, 10 mortek guard. Well, Crawlers excellat hero sniping and killing skinks too. But every game I get lucky and just make my saves against them. Hate them for their randomness. Their anti-horde missile is very effective against Coalesced skinks too. And Arkhan is a very strong caster with +2 to cast/deny, when at full. However, they are not ultimate answers. I think, Starborne with at least too salamander packs will do very well against them. OBR have low unit count and kill in close combat and Starborne can easily shift the main attack direction with ease, thanks to high mobility of the skinks/teleportation. Most my games with OBR were decided thanks to double turn, TBH. They just don't survive salamander's double shooting. But if they don't take first turn, I just make my skink horde 3+ rerollable against shooting, while sending salamanders/heroes outside of crawler's range. This way I'm not afraid of double turn, while my double turn is devastating to my opponent.
The point was that you can drop the Terradons 9” away, get to shoot with javelins (12” range), then charge into combat. You cant do that with Bolas since they have 6” range. But I agree that having Terradons on the board and moving around is likely the best setup. My point was just that javelins do make sense if you want to deepstrike with the Terradons.
The only issue with taking those for deepstrike is that the javalins will be fairly pointless anyways. If you take a large unit of terradons the rocks will annihilate your target anyway. So any javalins that do hit are overkill. If you take a small unit of terradons you'l on average hit twice, which isn't exactly super interesting either. I mean, a hit is a hit, but unless you're expecting them to immeadiatly die after this it'l be balanced out quickly enough in later turns. So yeah, if you deepstrike them, throw javalins, throw rocks & then they instantly die, sure.... Essentially when it comes down to it javalins are only better if you consistently fail to be within 6" during the shooting phase throughout the entire game. And since they're fast and want to get near an enemy to throw their rocks anyways you really shouldn't be struggling with that...
Not everyone runs kroak and the dice gods are fickle. Bone reapers are annoying. Not impossible. But annoying
Some Asian company nd my friend had to know someone get them(ordered a boatload of stuff). I'll get a pic of what I've done so far to it. It was years ago when I first started playing. I haven't finished painting it tho but got my base done.
So it seems like anywhere on the social media (twitter, facebook etc.) we have already been labelled "Tzeentch v2", "next broken OP army" due to TTS. It really zaps my hobby mojo. How are you guys finding it? And how do you cope with it? Do you just not care? I pre-ordered Slaanesh when it was announced and had a blast hobbying away, but when I hit the tables and found out how strong the army was and how negative the experience was for my opponent, it really sucked out any interest in playing Slaanesh for me. I shelved the entire army pretty quickly. I somewhat fear Fangs of Sotek might give my opponent the same negative player experience. For me, non tournament games are all about having fun (while still being competitive/trying to win), but if my opponents/friends are about to mentally break half way through the game, I dont find it enjoyable either.
sorry im out of the loop. why are they saying we are broken? because we really aren't, at all tzeench is 2-3 times better then we are and they don't fall apart when their heroes die im sorry you had to go thru that it is a constant problem when playing casualy and takes a lot of practice to fit your lists to your opponents skill
