It takes some skilled puppeteers to stay in their original character and go into the other character. Elmo: Sees all other characters in the best possible light Count: Has thinly veiled contempt for his co-starts Abby: Attempts to be as accurate as possible. Cookie Monster: Assumes everyone is as cookie-obsessed as he is.

At this point, I don't see how anyone can be in denial about "Get woke, go broke." The story of The Last of Us is basically a touching father/daughter story alternating with survivalist challenges. Fairly elegant in it's simplicity. I believe HBO wants to lose money. I don't see any other explanation.
I think most of the confusion comes from different definitions of what is considered "woke" and what isn't. You for example seem to have a very different definition than I have, which is why we disagree about stuff being woke or not, and how much it affects viewing pleasure. Edit: Example: the example you linked feels "woke" to me, but I noticed that some people consider discussing or even mentioning the ongoing man-made climate change (and I consider the word "change" an euphemism here) "woke", which I don't, but the author of the article seems to.
Nevertheless, It truly is amazing to see the mental gymnastics used by those trying to align their ideals with concerns and events that are barely correlated if not contradictory, assuming that there's even a correlation at all. It really does read like a series of conspiracy theories at times.
People are used to it. Pushing political agendas of one side or another and picking only the facts or "facts" that fit and ignoring the rest is a mainstay of political activity. Humorous pic related, wanted to post it elsewhere originally but it fits here as well.
Indeed. The cartoonish nature of such politics would be even more hilarious if not for the fact that a lot of people take it at face value.
Speaking of Communism, I'm reminded of a Scot Tissues advert warning about poorly-stocked washrooms breeding Bolsheviks.
If they want to destroy the HBO series, fine, I don't have any real attachment to it, but I really hope they don't ruin the second game. The first game was brilliant and I was planning on buying the second. Now I'll have to wait and see if the second game turns out to be woke or not.
