Some kind of gathering restrictions will stay in place until the vaccine has completed its test run, was mass manufactured and distributed worldwide. Sometimes these measures will be more agressive, sometimes less. But don't kid yourselves into thinking this will all be over soon and everything will be back to the way it was in a few weeks. And our hobby just like other forms of "social" entertainment (sport events, bars, clubs, concerts etc.) are non-essential as all hell and will be the last to be allowed into normal operations. So Q4 2021 is not a pessimistic, but the most optimistic assumption - it assumes the testing phase does not show problems with the first batch of developed vaccines, and it assumes the virus does not undergo a major mutation in the meantime. And if you have a store in your area that is allowing gaming to happen there at the moment (I assume indepent, not GW, and I assume somewhere in the US), you can phone them to ask them if they are stupid, or stupid. Like wtf.
Let's be honest, no one really knows when things are going to be opening back up. We will see how it all plays out. Acting like any of us have the answers isnt helping anything. All we can do is be smart and be safe. If anyone is missing their gaming fix, i've been getting in 3 or 4 games a week online, which I've been very happy with. Its not the same but its close enough. I'd highly recommend trying one of the various systems out.
well someone should tell the governors, because real Americans don't give a flying hoot about unconstitutional orders. this is why I wanted to avoid the politics debate. that and I recognize that this is a multinational forum and not everyone has the same rules gonna not go further down this rabbit hole, out of respect... I'm a soldier, and have a very strong sense of my rights and responsibilities as an American. to all I will simply say, stay safe, and take the precautions you believe you should to protect yourself and your loved ones.
If you wanted to avoid politics than you could have. Your "real americans" comment is just unnecessary. Edit: i think i took this in a direction it wasn't intended and thats my bad sorry @ILKAIN !
FYI, one of the GW stores here just posted a FB post in which they linked an email send by one of the GW CEO's indicating that they're one of the first GW shops to start and re-open in a limited capacity: - No games - No painting - Only x number of people inside at a time - Please don't touch everything while browsing, just take what you're going to buy and leave - If possible, contact them beforehand to see if your trip to the store is usefull by asking them if what you're getting is actually in stock. So yeah, I wouldn't count on having tournaments any time soon...
which is pretty much on line with what GW itself said a few days ago. It's a long way to Tipperary...
absolutely no worries mate, Text online has a sincere lack of tone. I am a solider (well veteran, but you really never stop serving) and don't think there is a such thing as a fake American lol. one of the great things is the hodge podge of cultueral, ideological, and national backgrounds that are in this melting pot. that pot is always on a low simmer. sometimes it boils over, but usually its just a few bubbles here and there. Defiance (demand for liberty, refusal of unjust authority) is basically an American trait, and I was simply riffing on that concept. plus my governor is literally ranked the worst of the 50.... and has been for 5 of her 8 years lol (she never got higher than 48th) no apology needed.
Our little plastic dinosaurs are back on the menu again: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/04/28/reopening-soon-games-workshop-com/ This is just the Warehousing today and the website on the 1st May. The factory is not yet up and running so they will just be selling from their existing stock. This should also give independent stores a chance to get in stock and to process orders. I will check with my FLGS how this affects them, they will still not properly reopen but they can do mail order or they could do click and collect where I live.
It doesn't rly matter if stores are open for us or not since they don't rly sell our dinos much in stores. But this means I can finally order that pot of kantor blue for scales.
