they just always have all the way back to WFB in every game they are in elves have the most armies and one or more of them are the best in that game
True! I’m just waiting on some version of ‘fights first’. They’re elves and the lore of light used to incorporate ‘speed’. I can imagine spells or factions adding something entirely broken that means you just don’t want to get in combat with them.
i'm hoping they don't because mixed with the previous ability that would be very strong but this is GW i wouldn't put it past them
For those how have not yet Read it: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/05/08/see-the-light-of-elthariongw-homepage-post-2/ Certanly overpowered. About taking half the damage of missile and melee attacks, this leaves Magic damage untouched? Grrr, Imrahil
he is a monster he does more damage then our carnasaurs and is far more durable. he is easily the second most powerful foot hero being just behind gotrek
and then it turns out he can deepstrike and our magic is useless cuz he instantly kills our slann and the 20 guards protecting him
Meh, strong and powerful warscrolls isnt exactly something new in AoS. It is however all a matter of how you are able to deliver that punch. The reason a Terrorgeist or Maw Krusha is strong is due to the mobility ontop of the high damage. This guy is likely half the points of Gotrek, yet Gotrek has way better survivability and deals more damage. But you dont really see him often, simply because it is hard to project the power due to lack of mobility. Kroak alone will toast this guy. 40 Skinks with Starpriest buff will likely kill him. Knights with Starpriest will likely kill him. Etc. etc.
it's the single most powerfull unmounted non-monstrous fighter bar Gotrek. But Gotrek is a joke model, who's designed specifically to not actually be useable due to his terrible movementspeed (hell he is explicitly exempted from the few things that would speed him up because of this.) In contrast this model isn't a joke model. And the stats shown make him increadibly powerfull without any synergies or even his complete stat-list. That is worrisome... The most worrying part of it is that based on these stats he's going to end up either super powerfull, if he has sufficient movementspeed & survivability, or basicly useless if he's too slow/easy to snipe/too costly....
Forgot about posting a pic of my dread but here it is now. It's not finished but this is the main paint skeme of my army the bright orange underside with the purpleish blue outerside
What do you think the odds are of us potentially being able to ally with the LuminLords? I feel it's about 50/50 right now... haven't team anything saying why we wouldn't, but nothing says we would either lol
Thought it was a rather good and insightful podcast, so I wanted to share it with the rest of you guys. Benjamin Savva is a rather experienced tournament player (won multiple bigger events) and is really involved with the AoS community. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/priority-roll-an-age-of-sigmar-podcast/id1488680024 It was largely about Starborne but was interesting to hear from a top player's point of view. Edit: I really like his take on summoning as well. It is a toolbox that gives you options/tools depending on the situation. It is also interesting to load your list with Terradons/Rippers but no Chief, and instead rely on summoning one in when you need it. Gives you more points for extra bound endless spells or whatever.
I don't like his list, it's basicly just skink spam, but this time backed up by Kroak's mortal wounds, a few terradons & a troglodon & if he ever has enough bodies survive that he doesn't need skinks he'l summon something more usefull. As for summoning, the basic idea behind it that he has is good and fun. But again this list is mostly just Kroak defended by endless waves of skinks. Using summoning as a toolbox only really becomes relevant once he's created enough breathing room for himself that he doesn't need more skinks and can actually afford the lower bodycount per CCP of other options. If an opponent can kill what few bodies he has on the table quickly enough, outlast Kroak's damage output, or better yet kill a part of his summoning core, then his toolbox rapidly becomes very limited. And that's in addition to the issues he's mentioned himself (e.g. everblaze comment wrecking havoc with his command squad playstyle) And of course as he said, he hasn't actually played any games with this yet, so it's all just theorycrafting when it comes down to it.
