Elon Musk wants to take humans to Mars, make efficient electric cars, and many other wondrous things. He is trying at least six grand plans at any one time. Society needs wide eyed dreamers with great ambition. The thing is, Elon Musk has never accomplished any of his grand goals. Also the snapshots the tabloids show of his love life denote mental instability, poor judgement and an inability to read people. I don't want Musk to stop pursuing his technological dreams. I'm hoping something will come of his research. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone but that's not what he set out to do. His goal was to convert spoken words to light so deaf people could "read" speech. His wife and mother were both deaf. But you know, the telephone is nice too. Society benefits from motivated dreamers. I'm sure something useful will be created by Musk's company, but I never ever want to see Musk near the halls of power. Elon Musk is the real life incarnation of Tony Stark, you know if you everyone one of Tony's inventions fell and every beautiful woman he hooked up with played him like a cheap fiddle and left him broken hearted.

Technically we don't have a democracy, the Romans did. We have a Republic. Rome functioned off popular vote, we function off of a mix between popular vote and electoral votes. Rome's system did not work for 1 key reason. Since it was popular vote, basically the good orators or popular people would win, not really who was actually qualified. Edit: maybe I just described Greece?
