Quick answer for the Riding School: Once upon a time, Spain was part of the Habsburg Empire, which included Austria, most of Hungary, much of current-day Germany, the Netherlands... big long list. Oh, and big chunks of Italy. Anyway, the "Spanish" riding school was likely founded by one of the Habsburg Emperors from the Spanish line, or from the Austrian line of same, with imported Spanish instructors and horses. Heck, Spanish soldiers SACKED Rome at least once. Point being, Spain got around.
