It wasn't marked as a change in point cost, and 420 was the cost for the Dread Saurian before the new Seraphon book. Many assume that the GHB 2020 team and the Forge World team dropped the ball on communication and the Dread Saurian's updated point cost didn't make it through.
Oh balance wise? No clue. I haven't thought about running a Dread Saurian. Though a monster that big with all those abilities and 35 wounds being 420 would be kinda nuts I imagine. Granted the massive base size makes the model unplayable on any table with even a little terrain. I just think it is going to be changed as it was likely an error.
The dread being 420 points makes it a huge PowerPoint and if it really goes down to being that low for what its capable of doing ill run a 4 DS and it'll be nothing but memes from here on out. On the other hand in a competitive sense it would make it more worthwhile to bring one of my colleagues since ya know he's a big ol beatstick and can mulch through almost anything if it gets the charge off Tldr I wouldnt be surprised at seeing more possibly being played if it goes down to 420 pts
And maybe they've decided that was too steep? Or maybe it'll fall somewhere in the middle. Or maybe it will stay as is.
or maybe you might be a little ridiculous about this at this point. *shrug* There is ZERO chance 105 "effective" wounds on zero rend only costs 420. there is 100% chance this is an oversight where they copy pasted our points from ghb19 because it was already to go before our book and then got COVIDATDED (HAHA GOT TO USE MY WORD AGAIN!)
You do realise the last part is for it to stay it at 510pts? Nothing is a foregone conclusion until it's been clarified.
no I didn't realize that because your current claim of "where it is" is 420. thank you for the clarification.
not even close. its pure logic mate. either your claim is that it is 420 and that is referenced by "stay as is", or you are agreeing that it is 510. you cannot have both stances taken at the same time
Let me break it down further... Scenario 1 - Points are correct in the GHB2020. GW decided that the increase to 510pts was prohibitive for whatever reason. Points in GHB2020 stand. Scenario 2 - As above but it was missed out from the changes and will be reduced from 510pts to somewhere in between. Scenario 3. It was an oversight and it will stay at 510pts. Personally as there is a statement in the GHB dismissing previous points you could even logically add a Scenario 4 where it would in effect rise back to 510pts, by virtue of the statement only. I'm inclined to say it will be Scenario 2.
interesting..... i think as long as we dont get a hotfix to this, the pointcost in the handbook are now 420 and this is what we can/have to use
