No idea why, but it screams snake biter ork to me. I think they have new 40k characters coming and an ork was teased. If not, maybe undead vampire mounts, a royal "hypogriff" knight of some king
That is true, but the Ork still looked too advanced to be a Snakebite - Snakebites have few firearms and prefer to use Choppas up close and personal. However, I see where you’re coming from, because Bonesplitterz, the AoS equivalent of Snakebites, are premier monster-hunters. Maybe it’s something to do with them. I do hope it’s nothing Vampire-oriented, there are too many Vampires in AoS already - we don’t need more, we want Death factions with something different involved!
I completely forgot they exist, especially after just playing a Wurrzag campaign in TW. Bonesplitterz are probably just as likely if this is orky in nature. As to if the thing announced was snakebite, im not really an ork guy so i was more parroting some discussion i had heard regarding the video. I'm all for new undead factions or revamped ones. I think beside SoB i very likely to pick up a death allegiance as my second army.
Oh don’t get me wrong, a new Death or Destruction faction is always nice to see, as both of those Grand Alliances are lacking in choice compared to Order and Chaos, but I want them to get away from the gothic Vampire Counts aesthetic in Death, especially if it’s going to be a faction that’s against the Skeletal Pope rather than allied with him. We already have Vampire Counts perfectly preserved as Legions of Nagash, and I want to see something different in this new faction. Resurrecting Tomb Kings would have been a great way to bring some anti-Nagash Undead to AoS, but as that’s now evidently out of the picture we need another faction with a different aesthetic and nature to oppose him.
Imagine a death Faction that was focused on RELEASING the souls of the dead to their eternal rest and preserving them from being consumed by the Chaos gods as well. they would rightly be pissing in a lot of cheerios and would have some neat lore they could work interesting mechanics around. they would also inadvertently piss off the Idoneth, so there's always that. (ef them eels lol)
Can't bring back tomb kings. Sigmar already massacred settra and turned him into a god damned abomination there is only one tomb king i will accept to rule them and he does not serve
Interesting concept for the lore and units, but I was talking about aesthetics specifically, and I’d like to see an aesthetic significantly different from the gothic horror of LoN, Nighthaunt and FEC and the Skeletor-type Skeletons in Ossiarch, as mentioned previously, not more Vampires. I want GW to get away from the Gothic horror because every fantasy gaming system since D&D has been using Gothic horror undead, and it’s time we had something new visually.
Well, I’ve unofficially changed this with my Nehekros Imperishables faction, which brings Settra back as a giant golden god intent on ruining Nagash’s entire career (if you’re playing friendly games and want to use Tomb Kings feel freee to have a go with these rules): https://www.lustria-online.com/threads/the-nehekros-imperishables-an-unofficial-aos-faction.24478/ But sadly yes, officially it doesn’t look like the coolest undead faction ever made will return, and I did mention that above. I had been hoping GW would change their minds last year with the teasers for what turned out to be Ossiarch, but when I saw what they actually were I reluctantly admitted defeat.
haha yeah they really messed him up with making him Lord Celestant Settrus of the Imperishables warrior chamber.
absolutely, you make them look like Eastern monks except they are all Dwarfs. long flowing robes, elegant even, slicked back hair and well kempt beards trimmed to nothing when they start to serve, and never trimmed again until they themselves must pass on.
The new Unserworlds Season will arrive soon: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/08/22/warhammer-preview-online-shadow-iron-broken-realms/ More Demons of Slaanesh... Grrr, Imrahil
But the lumineth? Interested to see what they have come up with. The teaser shows at least an archer, a hammerer, a swordsmen and a Priest. Grrr, Imrahil
New Rumour Engine is up: Another pistol, can this be from the same army as the other one 4 or 5 weeks ago? Grrr, Imrahil
adeptus mechanicus To be honest they should probably add if it's 40K or AoS when it's something like this that'd fit in both.
that's one of the popular guesses on facebook, especially in combination with some of the previous rumour engines like the halberd.
If they were to introduce the vampire Coast officially that would probably be the one thing that would get me interested in starting a death Army!
