    (With that all said, I have to finish fixing and storing a bunch of broken models for my 4 armies as a project. But I’d still like to get in the groove of TWW so that I could do a bit here and there to chill out)

    Getting used to the controls. I'm used to a controller and thought the mouse and keys would come easily, but there doesn't seem to be a tutorial for how you navigate/select troops etc.

    Well, there was a kind of one but it wasn't really helping...

    Why don't I try starting again and see if what he was saying helps. If not, I come back to you guys.

    Could be helpful. Really the whole channel is a goldmine of good tips and tricks, though it does focus on multiplayer mostly (But whatever will apply there will apply to AI even more so)

    Honestly... get Total War 2 and play TW1 factions through Mortal Empires:

    Benefits of TW2 overall:
    * lizards
    * actual tutorial
    * less boring faction mechanics (almost all TW1 factions were reworked from the ground up)
    * multiplayer has people

    TW:WH1 was... bad. Had a lot of issues and honestly felt like an unfinished game. CA, however, managed to take all the feedbacks and fix a lot in TW:WH2 and even the base game felt pretty much full (though I still recommend faction upgrade DLC very much).

    You're playing a vastly inferior version of the game.

    I'd recommend purchasing 2. When you play the Dwarfs in two you get access to their updated mechanics, which is something called Oathgold which you use to craft special weapons and armour.

    Otherwise download a program called WeMod, turn on god mode, infinite gold, infinite movement, etc - then you can do whatever you want. XD

    I also recommend playing TWW#2

    As for tutorials:
    Those videos on YouTube by a guy called Zerkovich are really good. (@Nazqua linked one of them above).

    I suck at the game as well but I am improving thanks to that guy.

    I don't know if I suck or what, but it's taken me 200 turns just to secure the bottom right of the map and by this time it turns out all the orks and skaven are dead and now my neighbors are the Empire and Tilea and the wood elves. My upkeep for armies and the economy seems dreadful. The Dwarves have pushed down too. I've got basically the Desolation of Nagash area, the Liberia Area, and the starting area and that's it. I feel like I've been ultra slow to progress and make money and build up :/

    I started as Kroq'gar on normal difficulty.

    Are there mods that make the first TWW like the second mechanics wise? Since i don't like Mortal Empires, too different.

    Check out the Legendary Lore mod if you haven't already. Multiple lore events to support all the new content.

    In fairness, you don't play total war for the individual models. It rarely looks particularly good when all zoomed in.

    Also what are the lizard things with stone clubs? Are those Zoats? Those exist in fantasy?

    They are Zoats! And they did exist in Fantasy. They are supposed to be powerful sorcerers who use magic instinctively rather than through training. Every edition they appeared in said that they sometimes associated with Wood Elves, so that's why they're appearing in their roster.
