Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - December 2020 This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple. At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else. Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link. Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link. The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc. You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section. If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress Grrr, Imrahil
I have one SC seraphon box, so a simple goal, either paint all the Cold-ones in prep for thier riders, which ill do eventually, or prepare and build my carnosaur and source magnets for the build as well as designing and really nice scenic base i can start on. I also know for christmas ill be getting bits and bobs so any model i get, ill try to paint up as well.
Newbie here (my introduction thread here). My goal this month is to finish painting 10 Cold Ones - I'm about halfway through (the riders will hopefully be a goal for January) - and, if possible, work on my Carnosaur. I'll also be assembling 20 Saurus Warriors and a Start Collecting Skinks box when I receive them on Friday, but finishing that is not a goal for this month - hopefully that won't distract from the painting.
Here are my goals for December: - finish the 4 Orruk Ardboys that are nearly done yet - paint up the remaining models for the Middle Earth Battle Companies I use And - submitting some Poetry to the contest Grrr, Imrahil
My goal for this mounth is to paint another Bastiladon. (I have linked a picture of the first one here: Bastiladon) I'll be using a different color scheme for a change.
First update: √ finish the 4 Orruk Ardboys that are nearly done yet - paint up the remaining models for the Middle Earth Battle Companies I use And - submitting some Poetry to the contest Grrr, Imrahil

Finally (finally!) finished the skin and scales of the Cold Ones. Finding time to paint with a newborn baby while also trying to close the purchase of a condo has been a challenge. I’m still fairly confident I can finish the extra bits (teeth, claws, saddle, etc.) by the end of the month.
My goal for December has been reached, the photo can of course also be found this time in our gallery: Bastiladon
Got my Cold one built and both the carno/troglo/saur/don body built and the oldblood/scar-vet. So lots build and losts more to do. Im pretty happy with it.
Well, my goal was submit poetry to contest and then come up with a story idea. Both are done. I also set the goal of magnetizing my Tomb Kings cannon fodder- sorry, I meant magnetizin my Tomb Kings core infantry. I got through everything I had and then Christmas hit and I have another load to do. I quite like it though. Still trying to work out a storage method which keeps units combat ready and still protects them. Bought an old .50 calibre metal ammunition case and will try magnetizing my movement trays somehow...
With Kuroda Nagamasa and a heap of samurai done this month, I have accomplished my goal of reaching above 300 minis this year (hit 347!) and I have made major progress on my Pile of Shame! Spoiler: the mighty pile of shame Sadly I didn't get to finish my platypus warriors along with several other models that got stuck in limbo, but I hope to do just as much next year. Good luck to everyone in 2021!
Also the big knights have been completed! What a great end of the year... with chaos triumphant. Very fitting. Tomorrow i will post some pics
I didn’t quite reach my goal, but I was close. I have to add a layer to the claws on 4 models, paint the dreaded eyes, and do the bases (nothing elaborate there). Hopefully I’ll be finished by Sunday. I keep using the newborn baby as an excuse, but it’s a valid one - some days I’m lucky to get 10 minutes of painting done.
Well I missed this target haha. Ended up getting 10 out of 20 painted. Finished the shields for the other 10 but no bases done at all. Hopefully January will be better.
