Ever heard of a game called Frostgrave? They have a lot of interesting minis. Cultists, Northman Barbarians, generic Soldiers, some interesting Snake-men from their Ghost Archipelago line...

...and Gnolls. Kind of short, doggy-like, gnolls.

Only... I don't know what to use them as. Should I use them as a WFB army? They would work as an 8th edition WFB army using the Dogs of War armybook from the Warhammer Armies Project site. Should I try to make them into an Age of Sigmar army? I can ALMOST work them as Cities of Sigmar? Maybe? I've been sitting on these minis for a while, but I never do anything with them because I don't know what to DO with them! They're shorter than Freeguild soldiers. Kind of hunched. They can be equipped with spear +/- shield, crossbow, great weapon (sword or axe), hand weapon +/- shield, or paired hand weapons, and I have plenty of 25mm round bases or old 20mm square bases to put them on. I also have a dozen hyena figures to use as a pack of some kind?

    They'd fit right into a Beastmen/STD army...

You KNOW I'll say use them in 8th Edition ;)

But seriously, I agree on the Beastmen usage and you could do a Barbarian tribe for WoC also, with a theme that they are from further north so mutated more...

The only issue with that I have is that I'd also like to use one of these:

This is a (very) light ballista (giant crossbow type) that I was hoping to use as something. This is why I have been toying with a Warhammer Armies Project 8th edition Dogs of War army - they get light ballista as a Special choice.

I’d agree with @Lizards of Renown and @Kilvakar and use them as Beastmen - given they’re about man-size they’d make good Ungors, especially as the bow-armed ones can be used as raiders. You could theme the army around werewolves or something, using the Mantic Werewolves as Minotaurs and making something smaller than them and slightly bigger than the Gnolls to use as Gors.

Perhaps use that as part of a Jabberslythe conversion, with the ballista as its Slythey tongue, given that it’s a very small ballista?

What about using them for Oathmark, the rank and flank game from the author of Frostgrave?

Xin's Lair... is a nice blog.

Showed me how to make cavalry with my Frostgrave Gnolls. How very nice of them. :D I will have to follow Xin's example and make some of my own!

They look great, but similar conversions in your army won't have much of a use in a Beastman army in Fantasy or AoS...

Unless you intend to write some homebrew content?

Homebrew content was what I had in mind. They're not official, so I can't use them in a tourney or something anyway, but I can make my own warscrolls and pretend they're a unique Cities of Sigmar subfaction.
