I'd prefer actual Shrike models over a plastic lictor... that's one of the few resin models that DIDN"T cause me grief lol.
yeah to be honest, warhammer occasionally overdoes the grimdarkness and just turns its villains into mustache twirling cartoon villains... It's not like this is a particular logical thing for them to do... even if they're arrogant..
It's taking their arrogance to the extreme, but also a reflection of how they perceive others. They very much believe themselves to be better, and thus, know better. Their way, or you will fall before them. Very Authoritarian. Which in the sort of society they've come to make, makes some twisted sense. They talk about their Civil War briefly, but I think this has a lot to do with Sigmar and the end of the World that Was, and then further when the Age of Chaos started. To them, Humans really are flawed, and cant make good decisions.
The Coalition of Order really is going to collapse in on itself through infighting. I wonder where the great plan will lead us when that happens.
While the Elves continue to cause havoc and the Grand Alliance of Order crumbles, we will continue to kick Chaos in the bahookie as we always have. And after Teclis, Malerion and Morathi have beaten each other and all the other Order factions into the ground through infighting, the Slann will rise up and reveal to the survivors their place in the Great Plan, and thus shall the children of the Old Ones finally take their place as the true guardians of Order in the Realms! Reject Aelvenity, return to Lizard.
We have never been truly part of the Grand Order Alliance. Yeah, we're Order, but we follow our goals... the only faction worth something is SCE and only because they are forged by Sigmar, so they tend to incarnate Order and are less subject to all the flaws that plague the inferior races. Aelves, humans, dwarfs... at most they can be temporarily useful, but never be trusted. And they know it. There's a reason why Morathy and her likes won't ever fool us.
Meh, at least the humans and dwarves aren't activly sabotaging their own alliances on a faction-wide scale... Or worse, their own freaking plans (seriously, the whole plotpoint of "we took souls back from Slaanesh and thus ruined the prison holding Slaanesh is just insane...") it's merely an occasionally corrupt human No they're refering to the civil war in AoS that the lumineth went through cuz they wanted to prove they were the best lumineth to all the other lumineth. Cuz apparently the aelves can't help but constantly start civil wars for stupid reasons no matter the setting. You'd think that after having gone through multiple civil wars, ripping apart your own civilization multiple times. And seeing the humans do just fine for the most part they'd eventually reconsider. And that's kind of what bothers me, you can't maintain that kind of believe when everything in-universe goes against it. They're literally just being arrogant for the sake of being arrogant. There's no significant achievement the lumineth have over the humans. Don't get me wrong, they can still be arrogant, but "you are complete idiots and should obey us without question"-arrogant doesn't really work in such a context... It just comes off as very forced...
Well, well, what a surprise, the Elves are betraying everyone... *Grumbles into his beard about the War of Vengeance*
Quick question though, has there actually been a story yet where the lumineth where actually helpfull for the other order factions? I mean, even the Idoneth have at least helped in sieges and stuffs to protect an human city and whatnot. But the lumineth seem to only have had stories where either it revolves around them or they are lording over the "lesser" races how they're o so wise and such.
At least under chaos everyone has an equal oppertunity to become a champion Sigh.. you'd think they'd provide us with examples of the allied forces helping eachother before they'd show the cracks in the alliance.
I guess there's that broken realms short story where a lumineth missionary in one of the outlying towns around anvilgard stays and fights to the death against the DoK/Idoneth force wiping it out, duelling the PoV idoneth and trying to convince them out of it, but he doesn't actually seem concerned about the people in the town, and sits in his temple waiting for the other Aelves to come to him rather than actively defending anything
Luckily, as a true follower of the Great Plan, i know that chaos must be vanquished. Aelves fight chaos, as much as many of the lesser races. But in the end, to quote a Slann... "they shouldn't be here".
