Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - May 2021

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Things have been arriving. So may will be busy:
  • Paint the Starblood Stalkers. Maximum effort on these guys, the sculpts are fantastic omens.
  • Start Padre-inquistor Mendoza, this guy will be really laboured over, as a challenge i want make it as good as possible
  • MIltary Order Starter Pack: Ill start on these guys as well.
 
Well, due to personal reasons this month will be a slow hobby month.
To set some sort of goals I will say the following:

- Finish painting my Rivendell Knight (left over goal from April)
- Reading and voting on the Short Story Contest #26
- Catching up on other Stories written by forum members.
- Planning on Terrain builds to come.
and
- If possible play a game of Middle Earth SBG Battle Companies with my brother.

The first goal is done, to be honest he was almost done last month ;)

Finish Painting the 20 strong unit of Saurus I'm working on (So close... 7 Shields and some details to go)
Print components for 20 Temple Guard (10 Done So far)

Print and Assemble 6 Gator-Kroxigors **Done
Print and Assemble new Rider **Done

Surprise! Let's procrastinate by Printing and Assembling a New Carnosaur/Trex project and rider lol **Done, waiting on base

The Blood Bowl orcs are built and magnetized. The bastiladon is almost done - everything but the highlighting on the shell. Unfortunately I had to pack up my models and hobby area in mid-May and haven't been able to set it up yet in the new house.
 
This month's recap:

Sadly I did not have the time to do the last two, and in particular the last one.
But we set a date and upcoming Thursday is it game time :joyful::shamefullyembarrased:

  • Paint and base 1 unit of Phase 2 clones. Done!
  • Paint and base 1 SW Legion character model. Captain Rex done!
  • Paint and base either 1 Core Unit Personnel Upgrade or 1 Vehicle Unit for SW Legion. Managed to do both of these. B1 droid upgrades and a unit of STAP riders.
All goals complete this month! Feels good man.
 
Well, I finished both sets of Beasts of Nurgle proxies (Rot Toads and Daemon Plague Toad models) which I'm quite happy with.

Also finished a short story (thanks for the very kind words @Imrahil!)

And now I'm rolling ahead on painting a Hierotitan.

I originally set painting goals for the year... I think I've already done that with the Beasts so for the month of June I'll say:

- Finish Hierotitan
- Write another story

Time to tally up my progress for the month and accept my walk of shame as i only managed to paint the main bodies of my army. May was used mainly for experiments and trying out some painting methodes. After continious paint stripping I finally settled on contrast paints wich seem to work wonders for me. I sadly won't be able to do anything until next thursday, but when im back i WILL finish theese skinks
 
It was a busy month so:
  • Paint the Starblood Stalkers. Just the chameleon skink left so i knocked something out
  • Start Padre-inquistor Mendoza, MIltary Order Starter Pack. I done neither of these so this will be being carried over
