The looming excitement that might be TW warhammer II

Right, thought they were a 40K only thing.

Aha, thanks. I know the release, back in the days I wasn't that involved in Warhammer yet.

Grrr, Imrahil

Is this one of those "agree with your opponent ahead of time" type expansions?
For sure. It involves some pretty significant changes to the base game.

plus, it's a thing that should be used by both players, so really you need to find a friend that wants to play a game with some crazily powerful magic.

Agreed, there is no fair way for it to be implemented one-sided only (at least as a complete rule set, you could easily include a monster or two from the list without too much difficulty).

I've never been a huge fan of Storm of Magic. Tamurkhan and Triumph & Treachery are much better!

Oxyotl is probably going to be a fairly bad lord sadly. Shooting lords/heroes tend to suck. Loads of damage per shot, like artillery, but the projectile is a normal projectile so no explosions or anything. And unlike a regular ranged unit it's only 1 model shooting, so the volume of fire is way too low. Making them take ages to actually kill an unit. Kind of a shame though.

Ah well, hopefully the extra units are good.

If you read the description on Steam it seems like Oxyotl's ability is just a reskinned Wood Elves World Roots ability. Still hyped though. :P I'd prefer they cost save on the other faction so they can commit 100% of their efforts to revamping Beastmen.

O sure, just don't like sniper heroes/lords. A lot less bothered by whatever other special abilities they have. Just wish they'd stick them in a unit so they'd have the necesary volume of fire.
