Curious as to where to proceed with a fledgling Tau army that currently contains two barebones MSU breacher teams and a fireblade, with a battlesuit commander kit on hand. It's very likely I will be continuing to pursue a combined arms approach with a Vior'lan list, with particular emphasis on close quarters firepower. I'm already thinking of padding out the two breacher teams, and acquiring at least 1 strike team for longer range infantry support and 1 pathfinder team for markerlight saturation. I would not be surprised if another fireblade is in order for proper coverage either. Beyond that, I'm open to suggestions.
If you plan to increase the infantry and max the number of shots with the fireblade, then a Darkstrider for a +1 to wound would be neat.
I'll have to weigh my options taking T'au Sept army over Vior'la Sept. Darkstrider can only be taken in the former.
Anyway, given that we're talking about Tau, I'm building a T'au auxillary force, that will include Kroot, Vespids, imperial guards converted into fire warriors, and a proxied fireblade (or even darkstride). Here's the guy:
Of late I’ve been working on designing ‘Ultimate Edition’ errata for each army’s codex for use in 6th Edition, including writing rules for new units introduced in 8th and 9th Editions. If there are any old stalwarts who wish to keep alive 40K from a simpler age, let me know and I’ll send you the errata for whichever armies you like @Killer Angel I was researching the new units given to AdMech for this purpose and found some of their units are ‘no longer available’ on the webstore - any ideas why this might be?
But I’d have thought that if that was the case, GW would have labelled the units as ‘Out of Stock Online’ rather than ‘No Longer Available Online’? The latter is normally used for stuff they’re getting rid of.
Glad you got a bunch of Admech! They were fun to put together (all hail forgeworld Ryza!) I played some kill team with them recently against my Uncle (more pics from kill team and necromunda here). I have purchased some Deathwatch recently, but will be working on them after I make progress on my Il Kaithe Craftworld Raiders:
The AdMech codex is definitely one of those "hard to master". Pretty cool anyway. ...and at the end of the month we should be able to play another narrative apocalypse 2v2. I'll keep you informed.
Yeah as an Admech player I'm super happy with it because it seems quite strong overall and allows me to use models that I like without them being terrible choices, even though the most competitive thing might be to jam 20 ironstriders in my list, I can still use my dunecrawlers and rangers now. It is laughably complicated though, layer upon layer of situational buffs that effect this unit but not that unit. I dread explaining to my opponents that this unit benefits from this rule but this unit has that drawback and this one ignores that drawback. it seems like a lot to process as the Admech player who has read the book so I can't imagine being at the other end of that...
