Guys. Every army is going up in points. And almost every monster moreso. And almost every hero moreso. We're not being targeted here, it's just a new game.
We all know every army and behemoth is going up. But I'm complaining that our warscrolls alone suck hard for the price they are getting.
yes, pretty much. Now endless spells are all bound for the ones casting them edit: so, max 2 sallies in a unit?
Seriously, you guys sometimes whine like a five year old who has just been told he can't have ice cream for lunch, after he had ice cream for breakfast.
My biggest disappointment is the trog at 270, was hoping he'd be good now. Everything else I basically expected and I think we came out pretty good tbh. Side note, razordons getting increased more than salamanders is hilarious to me
I mean sure. But it's not like the changes we see here make much sense with the information we got so far. For example behemoths generally going up in cost cuz they get monstrous rampage makes sense sure. But why is the troglodon now one of our most expensive ones with one of the biggest increases? Does he somehow benefit more from this than say a carnosaur or stegadon? Similarly there doesn't appear to be much logic to the other changes. Sure, most heroes have gone up 10-20%, which fair enough, that's consistent. But then you got the slann, ripper chief and the scar vet variants, which barely changed. Despite one of them being on a behemoth. On that note, why is the oldblood on carno so much more expensive than the scar vet? Is GW of the opinion that the sunbolt weapon is worth that much? Cuz that seems extreme. Similarly why didn't the skink priest go up more? They just got a massive improvement with generic prayers given that we don't have faction prayers. And that's just the more obvious odities. I'm sure you can find others. Anyways, tl;dr;: unless there's still something that needs to be revealed specifily for us several of these increases are just kinda odd. At least compared to say the ironjawz changes that were linked earlier, those are fairly easy to connect to the changes in the new edition (e.g. warchantar's buff efficiency goes down cuz of all the MSU so he becomes a little cheaper)
I'm a bit sad about bound endless spells being gone, as they were part of what made it magic special. I wonder if Slann will be able to control endless spells board wide? Or if maybe we'll get or own special endless spells. Also that makes Drain Magic trickier to use well.
I am fascinated that we get Cities of Sigmar allies now instead of Sylvaneth. That is a change I am 100% on board for, but I did not expect. Hello Ms. Ven Denst, welcome to the army. Don't mind the Kroxigors, they're friendlier than they look. Do mind the Salamanders.
Forget weed, Troglodon at 270 is a "pass the crackpipe" type of deal. It's like a 13 year old designing his own tabletop rules set in the basement. Pathetic. Is anybody really under the illusion that there will be sweeping warscroll changes to justify this? (And no, giving him the priest keyword is not going to cut it. Not by a long shot.)
GW's update checklist: 1) Make Beasts of Chaos worst army in game - check; 2) Make Troglodon unusable - check. Seriously, I just considered using him with new Kroak. Sure, but Lumineth get ice cream for all three meals at the same time.
Are we still scared of Lumineth? I thought they never really materialized into the horrid beast everyone expected.
KO too. Generally speaking all armies that needed their warscroll batallions to function got crapped on, because when assigning the new point values GW didn't care if warscroll batallions were a staple or not. And we still don't know if core batallions cost points or not.
Any news on the point increase I'm getting if anyone is feeling like giving me a gut kick also I'm open to ideas on what the fuck I should do for an army now xD
There are more Battle Tactics in the GHB2021, but no additional Grand Strategies. So it's "Hold the line", all day every day. Another half-baked feature.
