Is there a place for dread saurion in AoS? Is forge world removing models from aos? If it stays what would you like to see on its warscroll? I hope it stays.
in order we don't know. probably not, wthere will probably be no changes to the warscroll, and i do to
I personally don't think it belongs in AOS unless you change its base size. It's base is so large it's extremely cumbersome to use and requires players really play loose with the way models move over terrain to allow it to do it's thing. With the way models move up and over terrain now it's even more problematic.
Something like that would also work I find attaching arbitrary measurements to things with no standardization of use to not be super effective, but yeah something like that would definitely help. I still think its base is way too big
Yes I have a place It is a niche pick that gets use in tournaments but doesn't do very well overall though. with points cost not faq at the moment it can be considered that I am fairly efficient. Maybe but not the dread saurian. It is arguable that the dread is considered to be their most commercially successful product for aos that fw produces. Hence why like a year and a half ago they gave me my recent warscroll. Which to be honest if it does get a change give me a 5+ fnp and let my jaws hit on 3s and have the jaws have rend 3 or 4 I'm not going anywhere little one your concern is appreciated. Your butchering of my name though....
I would like to see an updated plastic kit from GW with a manageable base. Make him mega gargant sized. Forge world is way overpriced and resin sucks anyway
Sadly will probably not happen due to how forgeworld and gw works in all (in terms of what they make and release.) And honestly I thoroughly enjoy all of forgeworlds work using resin it's astoundingly well done and I've never had an issue with any models outside of horus lupercal and his stupid fuckinh world breaker (piece of shit)
I love the Dread Saurian, but I do have to admit that it's really hard to use just because of the base size. If you're playing on a table with so little terrain that his base size isn't an issue, you're likely having other issues because that just means that your opponent is probably just rushing you and destroying you turn 1. As for 3rd edition rules, I'm pretty sure that we won't be seeing any warscroll updates, just because it's Forgeworld and they rarely change their warscrolls. I do imagine a massive points hike, though, making him all but unplayable in the new rules.
I think, AoS need way less terrain, than 40k and mostly flat. Just to be sure there's enough LoS block to hide heroes, and you are fine. At least, that's how we play.
I get that nart. And I get everyone's gripes with the gargantuhuge base it is absurdly large. And for a sense of reality check. There is no reason why the dread saurian can't go on a smaller base. But the best solution to the base issue currently with a lot of terrain. Is granting it fly. But since it is basically set up like a heirophant is why can't it have the gait rule that the heirophant has?
That would be the best fix, just give it the ability to ignore terrain that wasn't completely impassable. The big base would still be awkward sometimes when placing it angled on some terrain pieces, but you could at least move him around.
Exactly the dreads entire mini set up is basically tailor-made for it to have a gait rule. Hell total war depicts a dread as basically being literally twice the size of a stegadon so why not?
They actually just became available like a week ago and sold out in under a week, so Forgeworld seems to still be making them occasionally. Just check once a week and you can pick one up when they become available again.
like i said in the rumor sub. treat it like the dimacharron. it will come out when it comes out again
No longer available is different to temporarily out of stock or temporarily unavailable. happy to be proven wrong in this instance though!
