https://www.warhammer-community.com...n-the-new-edition-of-warhammer-age-of-sigmar/ Love how they mess up the skink priest and starpriest in their official articles
Came for the rumours, ended up reading a debate about Gender in a race that is birthed magically from pools and half the time are just memories (if that fluff still stands,) Seraphon and Deamons and orks are probably the 3 races where this shouldn't crop up.
Errata is out. Good news chameleons now get a 4 + ward in cover, the realm Seeker engine is ours and no one else's, and bind endless spells is now permanent. Bad news still no sign of the dread. Coalesce only get their terrain ability when optional rules are used, and Our Endless Spell ability is just a range increase oh and we can only cast one of them per Wizard
The wording on bonded endless spells in quite interesting. My understanding is that the purple sun cannot go wild if controlled by a seraphon wizard
also a nice change is the Serpents Staff Asterisk now activates at the start of any Hero phase, so you can give Lord Kroak those sweet, sweet +3 to deny if your opponent goes first.
This is nice: ‘Bind Endless Spell has a casting value of 7 and a range of 18". A Wizard that is bonded to an endless spell cannot attempt to cast this spell. If successfully cast, pick 1 endless spell within range and visible to the caster, and that is not bonded or linked to another model. That endless spell is bonded to the caster.’
Sigh... god bound endless spells are such a dissapointment. They weren't the most inspired or exciting ability to begin with, powerfull as it might've been, but now it's barely even special since all it does now is add a little bit of range. Also the fact that bound spells are now limited to one per caster kinda sucks... The change to chameleons is great though, and I guess being able to actually use our terrain piece now is nice. So there's that I guess. Also the lack of errata surrouding the troglodon sucks.. had hoped they'd get some sort of change to warrant jumping from being our cheapest behemoth to one of the more expensive ones.
Missed that you already mentioned the bound endless. But in addition to all this, EoTG is a priest and the new rules for the realmshaper engine means that it's actually usable. Also, nice that we kept the bound endless even though it's maybe arguably worse than before. But it's now free.
The eotg is not a priest. No keyword, no prayers unfortunately. They specify it's ridden by a priest to clear up what's a mount and rider for things like steg helm and prime warbeast. The eotg basically gets 0 advantage from it outside of that. No skink priest rules, no keyword, no prayers etc. Its functionally no different than it was. They made the same errata shortly after the book came out for exactly that reason.
Looks like the Core Errata kills piling in from outside 6" and fighting if you haven't charged. Unless I'm remembering some o those pile in rules wrong. Overall, the Core FAQ is pretty good. Confirmed that Armor saves can go to 0. All I really wanted to know for sure, but there are a lot of good questions and answers.
What exactly are y'all talking about when you say "armor save." I checked the pinned abbreviations chart in this forum but it's not there. Is it just an older form of what's called a "save" in AoS? I came into the game right as 2.0 started and then drifted away just before the Endless Spells and the Necroquake and all that and am not familiar with that term.
