See, what I'm hoping for is that they will be their own new faction. Basically order SoB, where it is a full army of large based monsters that draw from only a couple kits. Which can then be taken with most order armies. It'd give GW a lot of sales as Order armies are quite popular and allowing most of them to use it gives the models wide appeal. While also fitting the monster heavy lean of the new edition.
Okay that would be cool if each Order faction has a Dragon with one of their models riding it. Lol it would be like the Justice League riding Dragons. I would love a sea dragon with an akhelian king riding it's back for my deepkin!
yep. The game is already bloated, ATM there's no need for further factions, as nice as they could be.
They’re definitely not a new faction (ideally) but I hope they’re not delegated to mount duty in the new stormcast line. They have a fun pitch for being actual sentient characters with an interesting history that absolutely will never come up if they have to lug a stormcast around, the narrative already pretends stardrake and dracoths aren’t sentient beings with their own society
It would feel really wasted to make a story for something akin to the ancestors of- or first Dragons, giving it a narative to recover their true culture and then making them better horses.... I would hope for some cool models in SCE, for it seems to go that way, then maybe later when the Draconith see the other order factions some venture out. One could certanly make models for many order factions, to get them their own version of "Ur-Dragon".
Could always go the whole "sentient super smart mount who works in tandem with the rider" route, that'd allow it to have a rider (and fit it into existing armies like the SCE fairly easily) without diminishing them to glorified horses (like the dracoths).
if they are big tradition dragons like i hope they are, then im kinda hoping they are monsters without riders. just big allied dragons flying around smashing things.
That is a bit strange. It is still promoted in the main banner in the AoS section of their web store, but clicking it does indeed show it as no longer available.
On EU it is no longer available, not temporary out if stock, it is weird. I have decided yesterday to buy it finally and now I am not sure if it is just supply or Legends. That would be real shame.
See that'd odd, because up until recently it said no longer available on the US page for Dread Saurian but you could still buy it on the EU page. I figured they were pushing it to legend before realizing the US page updated. So I wouldn't be surprised to see it come back in EU in a few months as it did the US. I mean they are using the model as the banner for AoS so I guess they don't intend to kill off the model yet. I'm sure it's one of the few AoS models they sell a decent amount of.
It's literally the first thing I see when I open the AoS tab on forgeworld, so that's a bit weird if it's going away.
I am unsure how I feel about our faction being used as a plot device to justify cool new models... for a different faction. If that ends up being the case, anyway.
meh, some interaction between factions is neat, especially for new stuff. Though I'd hope it'd at least result in units for both factions.
speakin of new units youtube has a new spotlight on the new 40k ork range. the squigs are lookin more like dinosaurs its gettin gnarly
