This started with the realization that the Dread Saurian didnt go up in points, got access to rampages, and with less Inspiring Presence access his roar might actually do something now. Im not sure he is worth it over the other excellent monsters we can bring though. Easy to complete Battle tactics: Ferocious Advance, Savage Spearhead, Monstrous Takeover, Broken Ranks. Two of these also give an easy bonus point for monsters. So without even trying very hard, you've almost capped out your secondary objectives. You are fairly vulnerable to low-drop shooting heavy lists though. A large shooting alpha strike could take out a unit or two really easily, and you only have 4 monsters and the units of knights actually visible. Not sure if the 5+ ward and the extra unit are worth losing the Carnosaur in the last list. Or what that extra unit would be. That list also can drop the Amulet of Destiny and reorganize itself into a Command Entourage and a Battle Regiment to be a 4-drop list, but I feel as though a lot of armies will be 2-3 drops so that might not even matter. Same with the 2nd list as a 5-drop vs HotH Thoughts and critiques would be appreciated
I like list 3 the most, it's very similar to one I was thinking up as a starting point for TL. I was also blanking on the last 300 points or so. The only change I would make is to swap the Scar vet cold one for a starseer, the spell is great and the ability let's you alpha more consistently with the steg chief if you want or need to. I might also try purple sun over emerald lifeswarm, but that's more because I want to test it out. Lifeswarm is solid
Don't the Engine of the Gods and Carnosaur have more than 10 wounds and thus can't fill sub-commander slots in Command Entourage?
Yes? The only list with a Command Entourage is an Engine of the Gods (Commander) Skink Starpriest (sub-command) and Scarvet on Cold One (Sub-command)
Yea the carnosaur is definitely better, but lower drops/ an extra artefact + another unit might be worth the downgrade?
