Hey guys, just starting a Lizardmen warband for Mordheim and wondered has anyone had any experience with Lizardmen in Mordheim?

I’m planning on using all 4 heroes so Priest, Totem, x2 skink crests. Plus 3 skinks and 3 saurus. Can’t justify the price of a Kroxigor.

Also any experience with any hired swords?

Always glad to see interest in Mordheim!

I have built up my collection of mayan/jungle terrain with Mordheim in mind, and have played a few games along with at least one with a Lizardmen warband before. I got my battle reports and pictures in my Jungleheim thread. Loved the old Lustria campaign stuff in the town cryers.

As far as Lizardmen warbands go, they all seem to be exactly the same. @StealthKnightSteg built a thread on the topic some time ago too, from what I remember that was the conclusion we came to back then too.

I would agree a kroxigor is a bit too expensive right off the bat and saved for a later set of games/campaigns after I have experimented enough with the basic troopers first. While the saurus are pretty tough, mobility is pretty key so if I had to skew my grunts on way or the other, I would probably pick skinks for the speed and more potential bodies. Plus they can shoot and fight (though won't actually win many fights so watch out :hurting:).

The max characters is always the way to go too especially for a campaign where treasure-hunting becomes a big part of the in-between phases between skirmishes.

I can't say I have much experience with hired swords though except for the basic ogre-mercenary who showed up during a battle once. He was pretty tough and held down a section of the board during that battle. It would have been interesting to include one of them into a campaign long term and see what happened, though it may have proved pretty expensive in the long run.
