Yup those are leftover saurus heads, I still have a bunch leftover from the 64 saurus I painted ages ago! But I wanted this captain to look extra fancy
Painting is going slow, but I am nearly done with a batch of magnetized powerfist options: Also been working on this Reiver LT:
Thanks, they were just casts of space marine aggressor arms I made, just had to saw off the bolter-pieces to make them power fists!
Finished the powerfists, so here are the pics: Captain of the Metamarines: Squad Leaders with their new powerfists: Spoiler: sergeant power fists Marines Malevolent: Valedictors: Blood Angels Sergeant: Lastly the Chaplain: So happy I was able to finish this guy, as I originally intended for this model he is meant to be a recreation of my favorite chaplain on foot model I purchased and painted over a decade ago (and posted on the first few pages of this thread some years back!)
Great work on those casted power fists. Your recreation of the old chaplain model is spot on, well done
Thanks! ~~~~ Finished up my Reiver LT the other day too, here he is! Named Lieutenant Tepochli of the Blood Jaguars chapter. Great excuse to finally use that leftover arm from the carnosaur kit! Heraldry: Spoiler: pics
Very nice work, he looks splendid! I love the shoulder pad and absolutely love the base Grrr, Imrahil
Nope the jaguar head is a transfer that I printed out myself . The colors did not show up well on black, so I had to paint the shoulderpad white first and then color in the edges with black paint. Rest of the yellow markings are all just painted on, with mixed success
And now for something completely different! Deathwatch project isn't over of course, but I had a long weekend and wanted to build some terrain. Center structure: Chapel and towers: The roof will be added later after I fix up the interior and windows. Front: The front towers are not attached of course, for easy storage and access to the interior. Interior of the main chapel:
It's a bit rough of course but the skeleton of the chapel has been built, so I moved on to the windows, which will be another experiment with water transfers I plan to print myself. First, the test prints: Had fun finding images online Lots more to do!
Oooooohhh Amazing interesting project!!! The structure looks very good already. Is it foam or wood you are using? Those stained glass windows are going to look awesome. Good luck! Grrr, Imrahil
Thanks! It's all the regular foam board I use for my terrain projects, cut out using a stencil and an exacto-blade. Not quite as realistic as the stone stuff you are using for your terrain, but I am very familiar with it and it allowed me to build the structure up in a single afternoon! It's going to be at least two days before I can start putting on my stained glass windows due to how long it will take the transfers to dry on the transfer paper, we will see how this turned out.
Aggressors now done! Brother Yorgos of the Gorgons chapter: Gorgons chapter heraldry, I should have toned down the lime green a bit but the transfer turned out good: Spoiler: Gorgons marine, necron tech on his back Last one is Brother Oraka of the Space Sharks: Space Shark heraldry changed up a bit from the last one: Spoiler: Moar pics of the space shark Bones on his back: Leg armor markings: Happy they are done! I got a bit of work to do on a platform I am building, once that's done I will take photos of the whole Indomitor Kill Team.
