Hoping this is allowed! A little while ago I started compiling a list of stores that offer a discount on Citadel products. It's obviously not exhaustive but I've managed to put together a fairly large list, with updates as and when I find new stores that are worth including. Depending on where you are the savings range from 10% to 25% off retail prices, so there's potentially quite a few pennies to be saved! I would copy and paste it, but the topic makes heavy use of custom BBCode tags, so I'm hoping that a link is allowed. Discount Games Workshop retailers list If anybody has any suggestions for places to add (I'm particularly interested in the EU and US) then please let me know! =]
Great Idea, Thanks for sharing! For your list in the Netherlands: Vlieg-er-uit Nieuwestad 79, 8911 CK Leeuwarden Not everything has at discountprice, but some stuff goes up to 15% discount Grrr, Imrahil
I'll add Vlieg-er-uit to my research list, thanks! =] The list is purely webstores, though GW policy dictates that they have to have a physical location in order to stock their products. There's one or two US entries where the webstore doesn't actually say where their physical store is, so they're listed as online-only. I organised the lists they way I did so that people in the UK could either search for the overall best online deal, or could search by region for somewhere local to visit. While I would love to do this for every country there simply isn't enough entries for it to be worth doing, so for now they're simply grouped together.
I was thinking about Wayland Games (https://www.waylandgames.co.uk/) Hockley, England They do have a location registered, but it is only a warehouse Generally they have 20% discount Grrr, Imrahil
The two HobbyTown locations in Tampa and Brandon, Florida are franchisee owned, and offer a standard 20% off GW, barring a few specific things.
I keep forgetting about Wayland! The board dropped its affiliation with them a while ago due to both bad reputation and their announcement that they were lowering discount on GW products to 15%. It looks like they've increased it again though, so I need to take another look! Generally speaking I've been trying to keep each country's list to a 5% range - the best discount I can find in the UK is 25% off, so I try not to go below 20%, for example. Them lowering their prices again puts them back in that 5% bracket. =] I've had a very quick look on my phone and Citadel products seem to be store-only. Going to have a proper look later though, because I've not yet seen anything above 15% in the US! =D
@Imrahil Wayland have been re-added to the list - thanks for the reminder! =] @Lord-Marcus I've been doing some digging on HobbyTown - it looks like they have absolutely loads of stores! Looking at their website though I found it difficult to find any Citadel products that were actually available online - everywhere was either completely out of stock, or in-store pickup only. Because this retailers list is related to my Ultimate guide to cheap Warhammer (specifically it's linked in the 'where to buy online' section) I'm not going to add these guys in just yet. If in the future I find that their stock issues have been resolved then I would be more than happy to change that, of course! The US section of the list is looking pretty small as it is, but being able to break the 15% discount cap that the Americans seem to have would be fantastic!
Right. No, you misunderstood me. Since hobbytown is a national chain, I'm specifically talking about the two locations in tampa and brandon. In tampa, if you call in and speak to Stuart, He takes care of the ordering or pulls from what they have in stock. From what I remember, he can ship outbound.
Not the US or EU, but... In Toronto, Ontario, Canada we have Meeplemart . 15% off of GW stuff. They have an awesome "brick & mortar" store in Toronto, as well as online shopping... https://www.meeplemart.com/store/pg/7-Policies.aspx#shipping
Oh I see! In that case I'll see if I can find a way to work it in, thanks! People in the States seem to really get shafted on prices, so even if it's not perfect having at least something above 15% is nice! Canadians also seem to suffer the 15% cap - every entry I have sits there! I'll do some research into them tonight though - I have 5 other stores that I need to add in, so this will give me 7 for later on now. =]
You would think that somebody in the US/CA would drop a 20% discount and clean up! 25% seems to be about the limit you can drop prices and still stay profitable (trade prices are about 55% of retail IIRC), but 15% is barely anything!
Meeplemart have been added alongside some more UK stores. For HobbyTown I'm still struggling though - regardless of which store I have selected (I've tried five now) their prices all seem to be exactly the same as the US GW store. =/
Next one in the Netherlands: Een Kleine Wereld https://www.eenkleinewereld.nl/ Veerpromenade 7, 3351 HM Papendrecht discount around 10% Grrr, Imrahil
With Taffelridder offering 20% discounts I can't really drop below 15 unfortunately - I know it's only 5%, but if I stick everything in then the list would end up too big to actually be useful!
Unfortunately it's not that simple. As a retailer who has reviewed trade agreements for several miniatures companies at this point: the reason you are running into a 15% discount Cap is probably because even though the manufacturers will sell to us at a steady trade discount the fact that other costs of doing business have gone up in the past two years means margins are smaller. Which means any discount eats into the bottom line and for small businesses like a retail location or an online store such as the one I operate. In addition, certain companies require you to sign a MAP or minimum advertised price agreement. Meaning you cannot sell above a certain level of discount.
