Hey, I am new here, I thought I posted earlier, but think I didn't submit it correctly. Though if I did make a mistake please let me know. With the new GHB and Warriors now being able to attack from the back line, does this change the approach in what weapon to give them? I have just started collecting and first time playing Warhammer since the early 00s. I currently have two starter Seraphon boxes, with a plan to have 2 scar vets on carni, 10 knights with spears, 5 knights with spears, two starpriests, 1 scarvet on coldone, Astrolith bearer, and then 20 warriors. I have put all but the warriors together, what weapon should I give them with the new GHB in mind?
it does. clubs are now a very good choice. we are still waiting to see if we get any changes next weak before we diside if warriors are worth it but if you are going to run them any way clubs work very well. that said the new rule is only going to be around for a year so spears maybe the best choice long term.i make my guys with what ever i think looks best and as long as my oponent isn't a dick i can usualy run them with what ever weapon load out i want regardless of modeling
Like @Erta Wanderer was saying, the short-term answer is clubs hands down, but be mindful that the Galletian Veteran gimmick and the Bonds of Battle special rule that benefits them are only going to last until the next GHB update. Admittedly, Saurus Warriors done up in a Phalanx formation with spears are pretty cool to look at.
Not to mention how weird is the fact that our warriors still have different weapons profile, given that atm GW tends to have a single stat regardless the equipment you give to the model.
Question how does the veterans thing fgo with the saurus warriors ability for getting more attacks for more units. Like would you have to kill twice as many saurus warriors in order for the veterans to lose the extra attack?
I was thinking in perspective that each one counts as more than one so per say a twist of the words they need more to die in order to equal 15 eh?
Not at all - the rules for that batallion specifically say that's only for the purposes of contesting objectives.
I mean, they are pretty explicit that this is the only thing affected by the veteran rule. It's not really ambiguous.
