This should help everybody pick out a paint scheme that they like http://web.archive.org/web/20060113...r/lizardmen/painting/paint_system/default.htm <- LINK
The glory of internet archives. I used to sit and just make endless amounts of colour schemes with that thing when I was first getting into the hobby. Of course, I find it way too limited nowadays. Thanks for sharing! Even if it doesn't work. Cheers!
Ps. it still functions... you just might have to wait a minute to let it load, I was on there a couple of times today.
Pps. If you are haveing problems acessing the app you can download this picture and color it in paint or your favorite art program, I left the colors on the right side so you can use the colors with the eyedroper tool.
I chose the first option, as it is a very handy gadget. However having painted my first batches of Saurii (and more importantly, having seen them in real life), the paper (screen) version impresses me no more. Still, posting the painter here a very good inititative.
Well, in argument against everyone that thinks the painter isn't as useful: I don't think its so much so you can have ultra mega detail in painting your army and whatnot, its so you can get the basic idea for a color scheme And for that this app works perfect and I've spent a couple hours now tinkering with different ideas. And since the majority of our army has skin and then scales on their backs, it technically works for every model that we have, just pic the colors you basically want and see how they all work out on the little Saurus! In my opinion, its a pretty handy tool to have And downloading the pic and using it on a paint program will definitely allow you to be a little more creative!
i just wanted to say i registered specifically just to say thank you for this. its already helped me pick out a good theme for my saurus. thanks again n810
I remember this one, it's great, but there's a reason I hate that you posted it: I made some colour schemes with it, and now I'm doubting if I should keep my current colour scheme, I like the volcano scheme too, oh man i hate this, I'm doubting again, this will be the 3rd time I change a colour scheme and I have to repaint a lot of models again. Meh or I'll stay to my current scheme.
I made a nice photoshop file where I have each different part seperated on a different layer, so you can color it fairly easily like the GW one, but with a lot more control... If anyone is interested I'll try and figure out wow to share a photoshop .psd file...
I tried making one for myself, but I got tired of it. You can upload a .psd file on a hosting site or send it via e-mail. That's about it as far as I know. I'd like it, could be good for illustrating my scheme without digging up actual pics, and of course to see how well my many (often miserable) ideas actually work out. Cheers!
Well here's a basic outline and a color color version that you can edit with a basic photo editor.... If you want the color one, in PSD. (photoshop file) you can instant message me with your e-mail addres and I'll send it to you.
