That's not just any Nazgul. That's the weathertop witch king model. I love that sculpt and wish I still had it. You did an outstanding job on the highlights
Thanks for the kind words! I did not knew it to be the Witch King model from Amon-Sûl. I thought it was just a plain Nazgûl. Grrr, !mrahil
I had some time at the office today to do a bit of painting This is a picture of them before nuln oil got down. They are now finished I also did three others that only need basing now. Grrr, !mrahil
I only bring hobby stuff with me if I know my day will be filled with a lot of waiting for the CAD models/program to respond Today was just a day like that. Start of the day: Right when I needed to leave: Productive day Grrr, !mrahil
Here are the first rour completed. I am sorry for the quality of the pictures. It had been a gray cloudy weekend (and I do not own any lighting that is good for these kind of pictures ) Grrr, !mrahil
Great models! What are those? LOTR range? And I get that "productive" part. (Un)Fortunately I have days like this 3-4 times per week, as I get phonecall from production and have to open large solidworks assembly (roughly 5-15k parts) almost every day.
Yes they are Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game models Funny you have the same thing. I am mostly working with Autodesk Inventor whit models of complete Lock Gates or Bridges that run in to the 30k+ parts. Grrr, !mrahil
I have been tempted to get some of those. Found a conversion online using these and Gnobilar parts to make Hobgoblins.
I have made my own conversion, to spice them up a little. (First picture is the type of models I used, because I forgot to take pictures at the start, lol.) Grrr, !mrahil
Good to see you doing a bit of arm-swapping to get some more unique poses! I've done that a fair bit on some of my historical models. The second Orc looks fine, though (a bit of constructive criticism coming) the first one, I must admit, needs a bit of work. I would say that the double-handed-axe orc was not the best choice to try and convert an archer out of. Were you trying to get him to look as though he were raising his right arm back to pull an arrow out of his quiver? If so then I think you'll need to snip the arm off at the elbow and move it further back, toward the quiver if possible by cutting off the armour plates at the lower arm, to give the viewer a better illusion of what he is meant to be doing. Currently he just looks as if he is raising his fist and bow in the air in an odd way (which admittedly wouldn't look out-of-place on an Orc, but given all your models are meant to be in the cut-and-thrust of battle, he would fit better with the rest of them if he looked more like he was reaching for an arrow).
I know what you mean, and he is kind of in the process of getting to his quiver. For this one I will keep him like this, but for future once there will be some better picking This one had a broken two-handed weapon and thus was in line of a change of weapon. Thanks for the feedback Grrr, !mrahil
You could also stick an arrow in his hand using a bit of wire, make it look like he's stabbing at someone with it.
I consider these done all in a week's time... this gives me hope I will get them all done.... eventually Grrr, !mrahil
My progress on the Witch-King/Nazgul modular build so far. The head is interchangable, only the left arm to go (for the model on foot) This is quite a small piece so might need an other approach than only magnets. The mounted version only needs an interchangable head.. That seems doable. Comparison between the old metal Witch-King (Amon Sul) and the new detailed plastic one: Grrr, !mrahil
I have painted up a test for my Wild Wargs, pretty happy with this fairly easy paintscheme: Grrr, !mrahil
In the past three weeks or so I have painted up a bunch of Mordor Orcs: There will be more coming Grrr, !mrahil
