I Worte some kind of litle guide for DT in "Army List" Sektion and I think ure right, 4-5 Drops seems ok.
Understandable - DoK have some of the easiest unique grand strategies and battle tactics while Seraphon has some of the hardest.
What do you mean "hardest"? Seraphon don't have any unique Grand Strategies or Battle Tactics at the moment. Quite frankly, the current Seraphon battletome isn't fit for purpose in 3rd Ed, especially this late into the edition.
We do have unique Strats and Tactics from White Dwarf. I didn't look them up before posting, but you should be able to find them in the app or online. They're mediocre, and are probably more geared for early 3.0.
Early 3.0 sounds about right. The fact that you have to go digging into what is likely an out-of-print White Dwarf magazine to find them however may as well make the whole affair a trial run at best and not a certainty moving forward. It's the same with points adjustments. They, errata, FAQs, and other patchwork bodges are the only things Seraphon can hope to rest on for the current edition while awaiting a replacement battletome.
I hope the new book comes with updates to our model range. I just built a couple apex predators for Conquest and they put our carnos to shame in terms of size and quality. You can really see how aged our stuff has become compared to newer games.
Personnally I actually still like our carnos, but just about every other saurus model... The Apex model is gorgeous though!
I like low drop in FOS too so you can make your opponent go first and then you have the mind games of them worrying about you doubling
Based on the amount of teases Lizards got in the recent video, does anyone think Seraphon could be a bigger summer release instead of spring?
It's possible, but since we are already starting to see some models pulled, I think those are indicators to the contrary. It is possible KO will get a BT first, but I haven't seen signs of that either.
I hope you don't mean this lad here: Easily the best plastic Saurus model GW have ever made, back in the glorious days of Fantasy. To be honest I was a tad disappointed that they got a different sculptor in to make the Saurus characters released with the Carnosaur kit later on, and clearly kept him on when making the Oldblood in the Starblood Stalkers warband and the Blood Bowl Team, because though they're OK they don't match the beauty of this sculpt above.
To be honest the Saurus Oldblood model I think does the best job of this without making them too chonky like the Carnosaur Oldblood, Underworlds Oldblood and BB team did.
It will probably be close from the Saurus of the Underworld warband My advice is to low your expectations and you will be happy
