This one misses for me unfortunately , I like a lot of the old skink models, but I struggle with the head of this guy despite not being perfectly in love with the new direction either. But, there are plenty of old models that I prefer over their "upgrades". Do you have a pic of yours on one of your blogs!? I would love to check it out!
The head is probably one of the best features in my opinion - the way the main head piece slots over the tongue, the latter of which is attached to the neck, so as to make it look as though the Oldblood is properly roaring his way into battle is genius, and it alone has the properly long predatory jaws that Saurus models should have. The closest other Saurus models that come close to matching this beast are the Temple Guard, and even they aren't nearly as intricately designed as this piece of art is. He was one of the first singly-packed plastic character models ever made, along with the famed Nurgle Chaos Lord/Lord of Blights that has starred in many a Golden Demon entry and Blanchitsu warband, and still holds up with the best of what GW can make today as well as being far more reasonably priced. I don't currently have a picture of mine on my blog, but mine certainly is painted and ready for action. Let me see if I can dig him out and take a few pics...
Just realized I've spent a decade waiting for new saurus... it WILL be new saurus. Still got my White Dwarf from 2013.
when I see things like this I think how old I've gotten. I need some new plastic lizzard to get better
Considering the silhouettes at the end of last year, at the very least it's: - New Saurus warriors (possibly dual it with Temple Guard?) - Plastic Slaan - Some sort of cavalry; either they've given Seraphon cold ones feathers, or it's something like Culchan
I’m still too cynical to hope for saurus warriors rather than a plastic version of some of the resin saurus heroes, but I think otherwise that’s pretty spot on, id bet there might be one or two extra things they didn’t tease though. It’s a good year for lizards, between whatever this wave of release is going to be and the Hunters of Huanchi/Terrawings release we’ll pretty spoilt for new stuff no matter what it is
And so you should... they don't make White Dwarfs like those anymore. A concise monthly summary of all the new stuff released each month, at least one (sometimes more!) batrep a month without fail, and quality Warhammer Fantasy and proper 40K content. I still have all the issues since I started collecting them in July 2010, until the last of the original monthly run in January 2014, and they're the issues I most often re-read without a doubt. Now it's just stuffed with pointless 'Flashpoints' for 3rd Edition AoS and 9th 40K that contribute massively to the rules bloat crisis, and they seem to see it as a privilege that they bother to include a Battle Report in one every so often. If I sound like a Longbeard, I'm a Dwarf player, Longbearding is something I do regularly
Worse case scenario is that the whole range is replaced with bug versions, I gave all of mine to charity. I unsubbed and dumped the following... what was it? Warhammer visions or something? Magazine after about 50 issues. And ah man I went from calling them Seraphon, to Lizardphon then back Lizardmen again, I miss the ole wordings.
I post the same picture here few minuts ago, but still ti waiting moderator approval. Anyway I'm so excite
"That’s not all the Seraphon can look forward to in 2023 – this teaser is just the crest of an enormous wave of righteous reptiles poised to wash over the Mortal Realms." So we should be getting quite a lot more Edit: Apparently they said those three kits aren't even half of the seraphon
