This month for sure, the tzeentch warband they were against is the free mini of the month this month to celebrate their seperate release and they’ll come at the same time. The next Warcry box is also probably either this month or early next one, they space the seperate releases to come not long before or after the next combined one
Yeah, the Baneblade miniature and three of its current variations (Shadowsword, Stormblade, and Stormsword) had their origin as Forgeworld kits by way of Imperial Armour Volume 1 as far back as the early 2000s. Case in point, the Baneblades featured in the Dawn of War series were based on that FW "Mars/Lucius-Pattern" kit, whereas the current plastic ones are Arkurian-Pattern (dare I say counterfeit or second-generation). Hell, IIRC the resin ones even came with serial numbers and certificates to prove that they were "true" baneblades.
I'm not entirely sure but I remember reading somewhere that they tend to release warbands from the boxes close to when a new warband is due to be released which I think is happening in the next few weeks
Some ppl were selling the terrain and chaos stuff as their own sets on eBay when I checked 2 days ago just all thr lizard sets were sold out. Maybe check again? Sanjay
I really hope they just crush all the old Finecast nonsense at once instead of bloating our lineup even more. But they didn't manage to do that for any AoS or 40k faction ever, so I am not hopeful that we will be the first.
They have been working on that steadily for several years now. My assumption is they want to get away from the bad PR finecast was.
Sure, but they are taking their sweet sweet time with it. Most factions could be done by now if they really wanted.
Are we likely to get a value added box set on release? Hoping they have a few units of saurus in a deal box as I'm going to getting 4 boxes worth.
I would say that we basically get new start collecting instead of seraphon one. Start collecting skinks will stay little longer in my opinion.
I just hope the saurus tails fit between the legs of a saurus behind them for ranks for old world. Otherwise will need stepped bases with models at different heights to fit Sanjay
With the particular focuses they're going for in TOW, I don't think we'll be seeing Lizardmen for some time in that until later.
Well we supposedly have tomb kings, bretonia, orcs on release so I it seems like it will be more like middle earth sbg in that we get all the regular none-specialised/old factions in one book before we see them get their own in years later. + they have said we will get to play our old armies so that would contradict that statement.
I'd be more worried about those shield/sword arms stretching out personally, at least the tails can be angled toward the gap between the backward flanks legs... maybe. I do hope chaos warriors and saurus get slightly larger bases anyway to be honest.
Seraphon will not be in the initial release of The Old World, and we probably won't even be in some kind of second wave. Imperium with aaalllll the subfactions Chaos Undivided/Marauders Orks Dwarves Beastmen Bretonnia Elves Khemri That's a lot of factions already.
Why would lizardmen + vampire + ogres counts be the exception? Why do you think they woudn't ever come to Old World either?
It's not that they would never come .... It's that they are far removed from the new games focused lore and timeline.
Not sure I agree, they've said we would be able to use our old armies. Lizardmen don't really do anything of note besidest venturing outside of Lustria on occasion for X reason. But they are the oldest race and exist until the end times. Marco Columbo found Lustria in 1492 and we don't get any info on what they do for another 229 years. So you can really make anything up. Another point being that I don't think they need to be in the lore focus to be playable as they've never been in the lore focus to begin with. I can't see all before mentioned factions being the lore focus for Old World anyway. (Dwarves, Tomb kings, Elves.) My interpretation was that we'd probably get a ravening hordes type army book where all the factions are roughly in one book, similiar to the Middle Earth sbg books, where we get campaign expansions to flesh out the hobby and add further depth to particular factions.
