Hello. I briefly played Warhammer at the start of 6th edition, then came back at the tail end of 7th and through 8th. I love making terrain and wanted to create a showcase of my projects over the years. I don’t collect Lizardmen, but my main opponent does. I haven’t made any Lustrian themed terrain yet, but who knows what the future will bring. I’m going to use this first post as guide and record of my terrain and post pictures in succeeding posts. Altar of Khaine This Altar of Khaine is designed with a Greco-Roman feel. The main structure is painted a black marble, with the altar itself being a red marble skull. Sticking out of the skull is a blade, evoking the famous Widowmaker. The altar is flanked by bronze statues of elven warriors.
I love the amount of terrain you have build, are building and have plans for. Following this for sure. Great start. I like the marble look on the pillars! Grrr, !mrahil
Windmill This began life as a Pringles can. I’ve wanted to make a windmill for years after being inspired by Hirst Arts. While I don’t have any of the molds, the images and designs are something I love.
Altar of Nurgle Heavily inspired by Terrain for Hippos. I wanted a box of plague drones for some Nurgle conversions and this was a good way to use some of the extra bits.
WIP Hills I’ve avoided making hills because I could never find a design I loved due to issues of scale and the needs of a ranked war game. However, after using blocks of foam and pieces of wood as hills in my last game, I decided that any hills are better than no hills. If I ever fall in love with a design I can always upgrade.
Good call putting the boar rider for scale. I don't recall seeing that one before, I thought your idol was a big head and little more. You have another Idol of Gork right?. What was your process for making this?
This is the only completed one I have. I have an in progress one, but that is another full body one. This one is made out of chunks of xps foam, with some details in clay and plasticard. I figured orcs in a region that didn’t have good stone or didn’t have good quarrying tools might use wood as the base material for an idol.
Encampment of Destruction Part 1 My first encampment of extraction is a night goblin mushroom village. First up a regular house. Next we have a chieftain’s hall.
Encampment of Destruction Part 2 Now we have a night goblin alchemist, my homage to the building of the same name from Warcraft 2. And this is the Night Goblin Moon Shrine. It represents whatever sinister structure is selected as part of the encampment. This is the wall section for the encampment. And a shot of all the buildings plus one of the fence sections.
Wyrding Well This is a Reaper minature I stuck on a base, painted and added some tinted epoxy for the liquid.
Small Bane Stone This is an older piece that was more of a just get something on the table project. Now it could see use as a secondary Bane Stone or a random standing stone.
