No casters...interesting... hope you are lucky with bastiladons shots! Just one thing, why 2 vanguard but no scouts?
I haven't run any casters in any of my lists to date. Scouts are OK, but deployment advantage matters a lot. Having more skinks to deploy so you can wait and see where your opponent puts their cannons, tomb scorpions, slayers, ghorgons, etc. before deploying your monsters is more important than having scouts.
Yes! More basties! Looks good! That Ancient Steg should 100% be a Steg Chief tho, you have points left in character slots. Drop some upgrades on the Old Blood or turn him into a Scarvet to make that happen.
I agree it would be better to have another chief, but I'm not going to weaken my dragon hunter. His role is way too important. I I would just not run any bastiladons instead if I thought I had to do that. I guess I could replace the glyph necklace with an enchanted shield. That save 35 points.
The rules on shooting the bow are missing from the book. My group has ruled that he works like other chariots with weapons and cannot.
It depends who you ask. In tournaments here it's allowed since the whole rule about shooting with stegadon is wrong. Since chief become a part of the crew it can shoot. The problem is that isnt specified that the crew on stegadon can shoot the stegadon's bow and the stegadon itself has no balistic skills.
My experience (quite limited) is that +1 can make the difference. You are going to be charged usually by cavalry or big monsters. Everyone have close order, T4 or at least 2/3+ armour save. If they have a banner you start with -2 in CR and it’s quite a lot…I won against a Lance of 6 knights that charged (and have 4 skinks), but without it the +1 I would have lost twice, not only once. Stubborn helps just once. Oh they were only knights of realms. There a LOT of better cavalry in warhammer
Looks pretty strong! I would try to fit in a second Steg Chief, but this should do fine as well. My current setup for 1K is Oldblood on Carno with ToP, Blade of Tzunki, shield, 1 Chief Steg with Glyp necklace and one naked.
