Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - October 2024 This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple. At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else. Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link. Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link. The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views intheir personal blog where the community can critique, etc. You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section. If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress Grrr, !mrahil
October Goals: Paint a minimum of ten redcoat saurus Paint the last six of my Brotherhood Light Infantry Bonus if time permits - Paint four miscellaneous models Loudly declare myself to be awesome, for my ego hasn't been stroked lately That makes it a nice rounded-out 20 models for me to procrastinate over.
My goals: - finally paint 10 Uruk-hai scouts - paint de town Miniature from the Necropolis faction (HoMM3 The Board Game) - write a short-story for the current contest Grrr, !mrahil
I should be able to squeeze more hobby time this month if kiddo doesn't bring more germs from daycare. Possibly even get few more visits of modeller's club. Hopefully: -finish preshading and paint Riptide -preshade Tiburon -start cleaning mold lines on Taunar -assemble something Seraphon -paint something for British FOW -assemble some German BA vehicles
Sometimes I kinda wonder why I write here lol it’s not like I’ll actually listen to myself hehehehe regardless same as the last 2-3 months PtG models are in the table lol Oracle Stegadon Slann Kroxi Hunters Chargers Bastiladon HoH dartpipes HoH bolas Guards Starblood and what ever else tickles my fancy’s I guess who knows how many other models I’ll include perhaps a EotG I mean only have to paint a couple extra piece if I don’t run the stegadon with it that day lol
Little progress: - finally paint 10 Uruk-hai scouts - paint de town Miniature from the Necropolis faction (HoMM3 The Board Game) - write a short-story for the current contest Grrr, !mrahil
Started with a bastilladon. His normal head changed to a head of a Leviadon to make ik more fearsome.
Technically a a little early, but Day 10 Report Paint a minimum of ten redcoat saurus - In Progress - 5/10 Paint the last six of my Brotherhood Light Infantry - In Progress - 3/6 Paint four miscellaneous models - Not even started Loudly declare myself to be awesome, for my ego hasn't been stroked lately - Complete, got the strange looks from my FLS - "I am AWESOMENESS INCARNATE!!!" Aside from the misc RPG models, a nice rounded amount done
First update of the month. I have fallen ill with coughs, buggers and throat irritated. Most of my hobby stuff is elsewhere, but I managed to get german halftracks out of the box and yesterday, postman came with package of some new plastic crack. -finish preshading and paint Riptide -preshade Tiburon -start cleaning mold lines on Taunar -assemble something Seraphon -paint something for British FOW -assemble some German BA vehicles - 3 halftracks magnetised and half assembled.
I have a lot in the works that I hope to be sharing here in Lustria. This month I'm focused on starting an (ideally) well formatted hobby blog to keep track of my hobby progress and share. First steps: Assembling and painting my Seraphon army for Age of Sigmar, and a special project I'm calling Mortal Realms. Details to follow.
Day 20 Report Paint a minimum of ten redcoat saurus - In Progress - 7/10 Paint the last six of my Brotherhood Light Infantry - complete Paint four miscellaneous models - Not even started Loudly declare myself to be awesome, for my ego hasn't been stroked lately - Complete, got the strange looks from my FLS - "I am AWESOMENESS INCARNATE!!!" And in contrast to days 1 through 10, these last 10 days were significantly slower.
Second update of the month. Sick leave stirred things up a bit. -finish preshading and paint Riptide - preshaded -preshade Tiburon - scratch that. Tried it and it has design so slick, that I was unable to get good result. I'll postshade it after painting -start cleaning mold lines on Taunar -assemble something Seraphon - started cleaning Slann parts -paint something for British FOW -assemble some German BA vehicles - 3 halftracks magnetised and half assembled. Bonus: Painted couple of drones, pox knight pilot, Farsight, Ethernal and 3 Grenchins for Orctober
Pre-Emptive End of Month Report Paint a minimum of ten redcoat saurus - complete Paint the last six of my Brotherhood Light Infantry - complete Paint four miscellaneous models - Aborted - shifted to next month's goals Loudly declare myself to be awesome, for my ego hasn't been stroked lately - Complete, got the strange looks from my FLS - "I am AWESOMENESS INCARNATE!!!" I've elected to abort the Misc models, take the rest of the month relaxing to minimise the chance of burning out, a couple of days I looked at the models and felt no desire to pick up the brush, and my hand was cramping while finishing those last three redcoats. Experience has told me that if I force myself beyond that, then I will utterly burn out and it'll be months before I get myself to pick up a brush again. However, I will, weather permitting, pre-emptively prime the models I'll be doing next month to try and give the classic British weather the finger at its attempts to foil my model priming. Can't burn out spraying rattle-cans at things.
Used to be a time I would loudly make that declaration at random about three times a day, complete with silly pose (the superman pose to be exact) just to play up the ego. Wonder why I stopped, it was such good self-positivity.
