A few more x-men to round out February. Darwin (HVT): Spoiler Jubilee: Spoiler Also got work done on two bots of different flavor. Go-bot (mini-drone): Spoiler and the Lunakhod Sputnik remote, with his Crazy Koalas: Spoiler got to actually finish the bases on these guys! And here is my WIP Storm!
Finished some Aleph minis! The Mahkai: Spoiler Not a big fan of this mini, but he looks better now that he has paint on him. Wasn't too hard to do, finished both of these really quick. Next is the Myrmidon, who makes me think of a Mandalorian but in white armor. With these three now the Aleph half of the Beyond Blackwind box is complete!
Thanks @- Q - ! I went ahead and fully completed the bases for a few of my Nomads minis this weekend too: Moar pics to follow
Thanks @Ryanj4043, I have been really enjoying painting infinity the past few years. Here is my latest unit, the Uberfall Kommando squad led by Psylocke. These are one of the weirder Infinity units, mostly because they are created by the mad-Nomad scientists who have experimented too far down the road towards human-animal hybrid cloning techniques that are outlawed everywhere else in the human sphere Psylocke here isn't wearing her most iconic costume, this is a variant I saw in what I am pretty sure was a Days of Future Past timeline. Love the whip; though it seemed sacrilegious to convert a model that was originally supposed to be a killer cat lady She has three goons to back her up, in game called Pupniks. Dark Beast: the Green Cat mutant: And Lone Shark, who hilariously is an actual marvel character Hope you like them. I tried not to spend a huge amount of time on them (whole unit is 19 points, of that each mutant/pupnik only costs 1 point) but I am happy with the vibrant color choices!
I have heard this unit strikes terror across the table With the introduction of N5 and a rehaul of the CC-rules they are no longer the top melee-threat in the game (which is good) but they still pose a threat. The way I have used them so far (in the 3-months of playing them) is basically a cruise missile: send them up the board during turn 1 to attack at least one hopefully crucial enemy piece that is worth more than 19 points. So far they have been successful about 80% of the time and get obliterated on the opponents turn! Edit: Of course there was that one game where they got completely wrecked by my opponents oniwaban hiding just outside my deployment zone
Caught a bit of the post-Adepticon Horus Heresy bug! The Leviathan Dreadnought was a big discount, he was pre-assembled already and didn't need much work other than some height/sand/rocks to his base. Finished up three tacticals real quick as another test paint since the last mini I did in this scheme was a while ago (dreadnought is still WIP): I have been enjoying putting these minis together. Low stress, even the fairly stumpy-proportioned Breachers. Breacher sergeant: The breacher squad looks good in my opinion, may do some more work on their shields: I also put together these two banner-bearers to go with the tactical squads: The metal-rod came in handy, gave them a lot more stability. I did finally finish putting together all the marines for the two tactical squads last night. Legion tactical squads in Heresy can go up to 20 models each, I decided to make these two at 75% strength so 15 marines each. Second squad got the fun chain bayonets Cheers!
Just noticed the medusa on the right pauldron of the techmarine... any chance this squad belongs to the Cult of the Gorgon?
Yup he is an Iron Father for the Sons of Medusa/Iron Hands project I am working on, painted him at the very end of last year (link). Really like how that Medusa skull turned out, aiming to make a few more like that in the future but it is time consuming. Spoiler: Lore Blurb- Harbingers of Taelus The warband that became known as the Harbingers of Taelus were one of the remnant fleets of Iron Hands scattered after the Dropsite Massacre. Comprised of veterans of primarily Clan Clotho and a handful of other forces, these legionnaires had been isolated from much of the greater legion prior to the conflict. After Istvaan V they retreated in shock and anger to one of the last locations they had been order to liberate by their now lost gene-sire: the asteroid-strewn maze of the Taelus system. For the next decade they wreaked havoc on the traitor forces, particular the traitor Mechanicum embroiled in their own civil war. Hidden from their newly reconquered asteroid bases in the Taelus system, the Harbingers planned and carried out harrowing attacks against the known traitor strongholds of the region of space. Their rage reached its zenith upon learning of the outcome of the Siege of Terra and fall of the Emperor himself. Throwing themselves into the Great Scouring, they nearly went extinct due to mounting battlefield losses and would certainly have disbanded as a fighting force were it not for the legion council, now chapter council, ordering their return to their homeworld of Medusa to be re-integrated into the new chapter’s ranks. I am working through the first squad of tactical marines now, with three more done yesterday testing out the color scheme some more: Got a bunch more to go! Spoiler: Color Scheme notes Took a photo of the paints I am using for the dull metal affect. I like it! Its a bit dark when there isn't light directly on the model, but their parent legion is black armor anyway so I think it works. Plus I mean I had to do green space marines this time
Thanks! Happy with how the first banner turned out: And basically the entire squad is complete! I need to do the basing, hoping to pick up supplies this week. But I do like the current look; seems like they are fighting on a night world.
