New question. @ChapterAquila92 & @Bowser The Ogres can contain 6 big guys with strength 5 and are considered to be a "stunty" team. The Lizardmen can contain 7 non-stunty players (6 @ strength 4 and 1 @strength 5). Why are they not considered a stunty team? Is it because the Skinks, despite having the Stunty rule, are so much better than other stunty players? 6 strength 5 guys seem less stunty than 6 strength 4 + 1 strength 5 guy. I know it is a silly question, just wondering.
I think it has to do with the fact that lizardmen and black orcs don't have throw team mate options, and your main strength 4 guys don't have a negatrait that would leave them distracted.
A number of ways to look at it, really. One of the defining traits of a Stunty team is that, with the sole exceptions of Big Guys, every single player available in the team roster has the Stunty special rule. This rules out Lizardmen and Underworld Denizens, whose other players lend themselves to the teams instead being hybrid and finesse teams respectively. Another is that most Stunty teams are reliant on Big Guys for a "mobility boost" (AKA fast ball special) to score touchdowns due to the stunty players normally having unremarkable movement values. For Lizardmen however, Skinks have innately high movement values that are expected of catchers and runners, such that they can beeline their way to the endzone without needing such a boost themselves. On a similar note, Underworld Denizens have access to Gutter Runners as well, which are noted for having the highest starting (and allowed) movement value in the game.
That makes sense. Thank you! It's pretty spectacular. I think it would really add to the whole experience.
I have toyed around with the idea of making something like this, but as I don't have a permanent gaming table setup, it's just easier to carry the pitch around. Get a game with my friend at the hotel when we're out working. But it would be a fun project. There are some that you can 3D print, but that seems like more of a hassle than just free building a stadium.
Mario/Boswer themed? I'd love to see you make something like that. It would be epic. In that there is no doubt. There is an undeniable trade off between fun/immersion versus convenience. Plus a free build results in something completely unique. A one of one.
that is the goal, actually want to pick up the vampire pitch too, make it Bowser's castle style, get some pipes, maybe pick up some more space marine heads to make some more goombas walking around.
Now you have to do it. It would make for such an awesome thread on the forum. We could watch you slowly bring it to life. It would be an epic project. I'd love to see it!
Next topic. @ChapterAquila92 and @Bowser Goonhammer wrote an article of star player tiers. Summarized below are the results. Who of the list do you feel is underrated or overrated? It's interesting to see which players they feel are better than standard inducements and which ones are not. S: Always impactful, useful, and their presence could win you the game. If you can afford them, take them. Deeproot Strongbranch Dribl & Drull Griff Oberwald Hakflem Skuttlespike Jeremiah Kool Jordell Freshbreeze Morg ‘n’ Thorg Ripper Bolgrot Roxanna Darknail A: Almost always impactful, will definitely help you win. Generally advisable to take them instead of standard inducements. I don't have anything to say about their assessment, as my group doesn't really use star players outside of really mismatched games.
