At the bare minimum, you need one token each for the following:

    - Touchdown marker
    - Team Re-Roll marker
    - Turn marker

Depending on the pitch & dugout set you're playing with, you may also be keeping track of the half of the game you're playing in.

The balls are mostly redundant unless you want to play with the special ball rules (and some teams are encouraged to do so).

The coins can be used for the opening coin toss, but I'd advise against it because they're not weighted properly. My group just uses them as additional tokens.

The balls are more for show, the new season comes with a ball token that sits under a base. Most people use a poker chip. The coins are usually used for Touchdowns, Re-Rolls and Turn Markers, found on the dugouts. Most people just roll off instead of flipping the coins.

You can use the balls, and some of them come with special rules, usually found in the spike magazine, but they're small and fiddly, so better to drill a hole in a poker chip for the ones with pegs, and glue it in to represent the ball if you want to.

Edit: Just read Chapter Aquilas reply, much more elegant.

    Thanks for answer.
So if I understand it correctly, I could use those coins as turn & reroll markers. I would say that hand with ball is touchdown token, but looking at snotling box I have at home, there is none, so I am a bit confused.

Is it possible to just use ball on small base as touchdown token?

You can use extra dice, the ball glued to a small base, coins or anything you like. I assume the little mushroom troll tokens from the snotling box you're using for something else? Possibly as trolls? They're the same kind of tokens as the little hands.

As long as you're keeping track somehow most opponents don't mind what you use to mark the turns, touchdowns, or Re-Rolls.

Ok, so tokens are interchangeable as long as it makes sence somehow. Thank you. :)

Absolutely, and I would totally use those mushroom troll tokens as trolls, save you about $100 on trolls, get a couple of 32-40 mm bases and glue them on, if you have extra bits to make legs, or at least to prop them up higher, even better

I'll keep that in mind when I build them in the future. But right now, plan is to make one or two teams (snotlings for fun and UGNI ratmen for play) just for the display cabinet, but ready to play if situation arise. That is why I would like to have tokens ready.

    Oh :sorry:

Any plans to dust it off and throw some paint on it (and share the great photos with us)?

I have urge from time to time, because they are great minis. Plus tgey are so small, it would be just couple of brushstrokes. But since nobody plays BB in my area, I dont exactly have motivation. And as of late, I don't even have much of hobby time. Maybe after new year when kiddo return to preschool.

That does hurt the motivation. If you ever decide to do so, make sure you post the pictures. I'd love to see them!

I am glad for the new season, and the sheer amount of Bonehead podcast that's coming out right now! And now the star player spotlights are starting to come out as well.

I've been enjoying them as well. I'm looking forward to his take on Ripper, who at the moment is my favorite Star Player.

Bar0n's Den was doing a Star Player breakdown in the form of a tier list, releasing a new star player video like everyday, but hasn't uploaded one for about a week and a half now.

I did start watching Bar0ns tier list, as well the gnome discord was taking votes on the best stars players for gnomes. So far Cindy has 4 votes for A and 4 for B, Rodney Roachbait solid A, Akhorne came out as C tier.

Ripper is undoubtedly one of the best stars in the game, especially if you're running snotlings or goblins, but would also work well in Black Orcs and Underworld. Whenever I read a tournament package I start building with Ripper in mind. The new Eurobowl ruleset does make it tough to fit him in, but he's well worth it.

Who do you think will come out on top in the end? Griff?

Akhorne is a funny one! A tiny squirrel on the Blood Bowl pitch. Have you ever played him?

I really like him for several reasons, the first being that I love his model. One of the very best among the Games Workshop lineup. The concept of a smart troll, is a fun one. As for his rules, strength 6 is spectacular and he seems like a great thrower of teammates. Plus no really stupid nega-trait and a very useful special rule. He might be a leading candidate to be a Star Player on a Snotling team. Hakflem also seems like another great player, but I don't like his model nearly so much. Morg is a beast, but once again his model is not as good in my opinion. Bomber Dribblesnot's rules look cool, but Snotlings already have access to two bombardiers; that's too many secret weapons, especially of the same type. Kreek is an interesting one; secret weapon but some built in protection to avoid being sent off.

Akhorne was probably my most used star player outside of goblin teams in 2020 Blood Bowl. A lot of fun. This season however with I think it's more likely to take a keg and 3 prayers to nuffle or a keg and a mascot than Akhorne.

For snotlings specifically Ripper, Hakflem, Morg, and Skitter are your S tier stars.

Everyone else is A tier, except Akhorne. Fungus, Kreek, Bomber, and Nobbla are all secret weapons, so add 50k to their price as you're going to want a bribe with them, but all incredibly good. Top pick out of them is Nobbla though, close to S tier, the extra foul not foul per game, blodge, and saboteur. He's absolutely insane this season.

Scrappa is a Pogo with right stuff, sprint and sure feet, so movement 10 possible as opposed to the fun hoppa 8. Glart is a beast and would do well with your other 4 strength guys.Grak and Crumbleberry are interesting and have a cool mechanism, but are probably the weakest aside from Akhorne.

The only reason to take Akhorne for snotlings is you have a cool squirrel model you want to use. Biased referee, or bribe and 3 prayers, or bribe, mascot, and cheerleader are all better options sadly.

Griff is always a top player, but I think Jordell takes his spot this season as gnomes and Halflings can take Jordell, they can't take Griff, so we won't see him as often this season.

Snotlings are really spoiled for choice. They have access to a wide range of really amazing Star Players.

What are you experiences with Kreek? How much of an impact has he made on your teams? Things to look out for and things to take advantage of?

That Skitter is no slouch either. MA 9 with AG 2+ and dodge feel like it would be very useful on an otherwise slow Snotlings team. A little on the weak side, but cheaper than the other S tier stars and probably a touchdown machine.

How do you compare Skitter against Hakflem? Who would you go with (seeing as they are priced in the same ballpark as one another)?
