Well after I started my Lizardmen army, I got a stegaon and gave it the EotG, and it was a fun model to paint, and it is worth it on the table. Recently I am constantly up against a massive skaven army, and decided I need more hammer. I got another stegadon, now what I want to know, since we are in 8th, I want to know how would you recommend I assemble him? The normal stegadon or the ancient stegadon. I do not want another EotG due to point restrictions. I am considering on on building an ancient stegadon with the 2 massive blow pipes so that it slots into my rare slot. I have about 30 temple guard, 16 cold one cavalary, bastiladon and using something else to fill the special slot with I think will be more of a problem later. So what would you recommend?
I am pretty new to fantasy. but I would go the blowpipes. They do so much work and my opponents just don't want to be near the thing. If they let it charge, 1d6+1 impact hits. If they charge face on 4d6+3 poisoned shots. This thing does it's job very well (especially if you give it Hand of the gods so you can go for long range shots through cover and still get poison!
Why choose? Check out this page of my plog: http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/qupakocos-cohorts-updated-1-29-2013.8955/ (see 2nd post)
