I first played dwarfs for Fantasy years ago. But I did a bad job building it and it had a poor win rate. So when the new army book came out I decided to play lizard men instead. I'm new to the army and admittedly just bought my first box of Saurus. So far I like the army particularity the Slann. I look forward to getting more involved with the community.
Welcome to the Jungle! Don't forget to post pics of your Saurus as you get them ready for use. Also, check out the tactica section or Scalenex will be sad (there is a ton of good info in there, so you really should check it out).
Welcome to Lustria! I am new to Lizardmen too. I have plenty of units to paint. I have finished a unit of Saurus, a unit of Skinks and my Slann.
Where is a good place to post? Its not complete but I have enough to show. Also any tip for arming scar vets?
Rychek are you implying my selfless efforts to provide easy access to high quality tacticas is ego driven?
You can post your stuff on the painting forum If you want to keep a chronicle style of your WIP army as it comes to fruition I would suggest making a PLOG or painting log For Scar Veterans on foot, I favor defensive builds for BSBs and offensive builds for everyone else. I usually go with a Armor of Destiny and shield for a BSB. I rarely field a Scar Veteran on foot that's not a BSB. I tend to field my other Scar Veterans with the Egg of Quango, a cheap magic weapon a shield and the best magic armor I can afford with the remaining magic items points allowance. Scar Veterans and Oldbloods on Cold Ones are very popular and I would be hesitant to run an all comers list without one or the other. They are nicknamed "cowboys" and there are lots of options for them. For Scar Veterans on Cold Ones, most people tend to run with a Great Weapon or Halberd plus some kind of magic armor.
It was more an effort to get more people to benefit from your tireless efforts to improve us all. I just have twisted sense of humor sometimes and much is lost in typing.
