Hello, i'm both new to Warhammer fantasy as to joining the forums but i thougt i might ask you guys for some help. I really want my lizards to be orange and i wanted to ask if someone could help me figure out how i should do. I've some pictures of how i kind of wanted them to look like but i have no idea which colors i should buy to get it. (I don't know how to post pictures .__. so i'll put some google links instead.) https://mgmpainting.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/finished-tettoeko-front.jpg http://www.the-vanus-temple.com/wp-content/uploads/lizardmen-009.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c140/edgarschippers/battlereports/battlereport%20dwarfs%20vs%20lizardmen%202%202500pts/overviewribbit.jpg I know they are pro painted but i still want to give it a try to get a color for my lizzys like that. Thanks ^^.
Hi, Sank, and welcome to Lustria! There are many ways to paint orange, depending what you want to achieve. I personally think GWs own orange paint range is rather good, so you can go to your local shop and buy bunch of orange paints (Jokaero Orange for base, Fire Dragon Bright, Wild Rider Red and Troll Slayer for layers and of course the washes, or Shades, like Fuegan Orange and Reikland Fleshshade). Next, you can check the painting blogs from this website. For example, my own can be easily found from the link on my signature. I dabble quite a lot with orange, and I think most stuff has some instruction with them (as people asked for it, or I just added it there so I can find it myself if I ever forget... which happens a lot...). Also, I can give you some simple pointers. If you want fairly dark, start with Jokaero Orange, wash heavily with Reikland Fleshshade (you can even wash it twice, just let the first one dry properly before the second), and drybrush or layer with the orange of your choice. For lighter tones, you can start with Fire Dragon Bright as your base colour, wash more gently with Fuegan Orange and drybrush or layer with Troll Slayer. Hope this helps! Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. EDIT: You can link pics by using the "pic" button. When you take your mouse on top of it, it says "Use this code to post images" in white below it. Then just paste your link between the [pic][/pic] thing that appears. Super simple!
(teko-eko) looks like they are using a redish orange as a base, posibly with regular orange in the middle, and a yellowish orange for a highlight. (slan) looks like orange blended to light orange for the highlights
