I believe it to be Albion too.
Lizzies want to get close to the action so they can fight back the threat.
I hope they will do a Noahs ark and bring all their dinos with them to the new terraformed jungle!

and, if there is a waygate to there, the southlands. Is there?

I think there was at least a waygate back to Lustria...?

There is a waygate to Lustria, and if we get a book where they try to take Albion and we're trying to keep it then the Brettonnians will probably play a major role in it because they helped us take Albion back, reason: The Lady of the Lake told them to, and if The Lady wanted them to take Albion back then it's fairly obvious that they'd help us defend it, especially because it'd keep the Vile Taint of Chaos off of Albion where The Lady has appeared to more Questing Knights than ANYWHERE else.

P.S Albion was ours before the Great Catastrophe, it's why we 'reclaimed' Albion.

I know that this may be a little off the topic, but it just got me thinking about the similarities between the End Times releases and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as described in the Christian bible. The four horsemen where war, death, pestilence, and conquest. I see the death horseman as the Nagash installment, pestilence as the Glotkin installment and now with Khaine as the War horseman. I am just drawing similarities but that would leave conquest as the next, and unfortunately last, installment. I am not sure about the affinity for the army but now that it has been mentioned, Skaven would fit the bill as conquering the Surface kingdoms. What do you think? If this theory is true then we wont be getting our own installment of End Times. That does make me sad to think cause everyone else seems to be getting nice shiny new characters to play with, and good ol' lizzies seem to be left out.

that's a good point re the 4 horsemen. Pretty apt.
As far as the next book (skaven's), I'm almost certain the rats will invade lustria again.

Pretty sure the forth horsemen isn't pestilence, but famine. But it is a long time ago since I read up on it, so I could be wrong.

And considering the modus operandi of the skaven, they'd be equally fitting for pestilence. Poison and corruption is pretty much the default Skaven tactic, and the same onen they used the last time they tried invading lustria.

Originally, the Four Horsemen were: Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Conquest was exchanged with Pestilence in modern pop culture. Famine, I suppose could fit Skaven considering they're overrunning and ruining the lands they invade (i.e. Estalia and Tilea).

End Times: Nagash has a two-page spread of LM fighting Skaven which suggests a definite conflict between the two, especially as the other spreads depict the Elven civil war, and the marching tide of Chaos Warriors - all of which have come to pass.

I just hope Lustira doesn't explode or something at the end of End Times: Skaven.

That would only be awesome. Barring the fact GW would probably nerf them past the core.

I think we can actually count on Lustria going away. So far, the books have wiped out nations and lands and moved everyone to the main old world.

    Its all correct.
Only thing is that Conquest and pestilence is the same horseman, the mixup occurred due to words
with multiple meanings during translation, and it stuck.

I think GW deliberately made the glottkin fit both:

    Pestilence: Nurgle, its given
Conquest: the Glottkin brothers is sent by Archan on a mission of conquest (the book uses the word itself)

I actually wouldn't mind. We are currently situated a bit too far from "the action" and the other races. We are too isolated. I think Lizardmen as a whole would benefit, fluffwise, from being closer to the other races, and being forced to consider them and their cultures, rather than just being this singleminded about either defendidng lustria, or "completing the Great Plan"

Excerpts from Revelation 6:1-8, New International Version
"I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode our as a conqueror bent on conquest...
"Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword...
"I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, 'a quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!'...
"I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades followed close behind him. The were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by the sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."

I'd suggest that the ways in which they destroy overlap, and that naming them as concretely as Death, Famine, Pestilence, etc. may be more an invention of a polytheistic culture, rather than creations of the original writer. Nonetheless, I'd call the themes War, Violence, Famine, and Death...more of a steady undoing of more and more of the world, rather than four different kinds of destruction.

Anyways, exegesis aside, I suppose it's more the "traditional" roles of the 4 horsemen that would shape a parallel mythology, and I do think that Nagash, Glottkin and Khaine work very well as Death, Pestilence/Famine and Violence. But if the chaotic violence of a civil war characterizes Khaine well, then perhaps utter conquest will be a theme for the Skaven. Any thoughts on what character will take center stage on the Skaven side of things?

Well... The horned one has returned and retaken his seat in the council of thirteen. He'll likely take a pretty major part in all this.

    This was leaked on Warseer:
    Photos from upcoming white dwarf

    http://descansodelescriba.blogspot.com.au/2014/12/wdw-47-desveladahobbitjuegos-y-extras.html

On the (blurry) page with 'Codex:Apocrypha' down the side:

The lizardmen send for "The Golden-crested Spawning", awaken the "Opener of the Ways" and "Engage the exodus engines" on their temple pyramids.

Other than the ship in the City of Mists can anyone shed any light on what this might be referring to?

(I can't make the links work, can anyone help?)

Reading the article in White Dwarf, it looks to me like the Temple Pyramids themselves are ships - if you refer to the map of Lustria you'll see a 'floating pyramid' in the North, which is possibly something similar (and something I've always wondered about).

Which makes me wonder: don't the Skaven essentially run Quezta; if they manage to grab a hold of a Golden-Crested skink will we a get sky-pyramid battle?! I'm having flashbacks to Laputa.

Where is this passage that refers to a ship in the City of Mists? I've never found it..

Im not sure how you come to those ideas :p
I think its exactly what it sound like: someone who opens passways, which I would guess to be dimensional portals or wormholes, as from this moment we are in starship land :)

Edit: Come to think of it...it probably the title of the golden crested skink.

Well since only saurus and slann have long lives id believe it to be one of them as a skink doesnt live for long, our oldest skink is tetto whilst tehenhauin is name given to prophets of sotek so personally i believe the opener of ways must be ancient as its been dormant since the time of the old ones so it kinda rules out our little skinks :/ and theres nothing stopping a saurus being breed for such a task and in my temple city of qu'ittax i have a high saurian priest dedicated to xapati

I cant help but feel you haven't read the leaked text? :p
Which says the golden crested spawning is a skink.
He then walks into a room, in which he has never set foot before, but still knows what to do
as he has been bred for the purpose.
he then proceeds to start the "Exodus Engines" which makes the pyramid vibrate, which leads people to believe that it is in fact a spaceship, and that the skink is the pilot.

Nowhere does it state that "the opener of ways" has lived alongside the old ones.
While you can make up fluff for a Saurus priest (and by all means, do exactly as you like!, I am still planning to convert a Saurus wizard )
there is plenty of canon lore that tells us that Saurus are bred for war, their intelligence is based on instinct, and their tasks is all combat related.
The skinks are administrators, architects, planners and head of the entire lizardmen civilizations infrastructure, so it is not exactly a shock that a little fella gets to be pilot :p
