Hi I'm new to the forum I never knew this existed if I did I probably would not have left the hobby for so long, well I joined, I started it up again and I'm here to stay . Hopefully I can get to know more of you all and enjoy the posts as much as I am now. I aim to learn the game and actually play it instead of modelling an painting etc, although that's my favourite part. and my favourite threads
Welcome to the forums! It's quite flattering to hear our forum reinvigorating your interest in the hobby. Let us know if you have any questions about rules, fluff, tactics, painting or whatever.
"Fluff" refers to the non-mechanics aspects of Warhammer fantasy. "Crunch" is the mechanics. Crunch, Empire Generals have the stat line M4, WS5, BS5, S4, T4, W3, I5 A3 Ld9 Fluff: General Steve is a recovering alcoholic. As a Captain he lost a lot of men due to a bad call he made with his regiment, so he quit the sauce entirely. Since then he has become a very stern stoic commander. To his men he seems driven by victory but he is really driven by guilt.
So fluff is like a story for the characters or like a role play effect? And crunch is the details of the unit itself like armour etc
Basically yes. In addition to roleplaying it also includes all the text in the GW books about how units are trained and the like.
