    Hi all

I used to play WFB years ago, mainly as Empire, but my son had a Lizardman army that he never finished assembling which is covered in spiderwebs somewhere in the garden shed. I was having a tidy in my drawers and came across some of the army books and the 6th Ed rulebook which has resparked my interest. I had a look at the GW website, but the Empire models were not doing it for me... but as my son has said he has no intention or restarting I have commandeered his army... well I did buy most of it for him anyway ;)

I have yet to buy the new armybook and have no idea what changes there have been, but at least most of the models seem to be broadly the same... I fully intend to be an active lurker in Lustria as befits my skinky nature, but I may venture forth from the undergrowth to make the odd comment now and then.

Now to find the models and start building/converting/painting :)

    See you around.

Welcome to the forum! I look forward to seeing your army as it is assembled and painted.

    Welcome to the forum lurker!

Hopefully we'll see you around in the forums. Let us know if you have any specific questions about rules, tactics, fluffs or anything else.

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the welcome. I intend to dig around in the shed for the minis tomorrow so I can see what is there. I know he started painting some models but I think that was a Kroxigor and a slamander I think. The rest was unpainted... just as well as I will be using more of a natural colour scheme than the GW blue theme.

I need to get hold of a rule book and army book too... but after looking on GWs site I guess I'll be doing a lot of lurking on eBay too. Last time I bought an army book I'm sure it was £10/£12... thats some inflation going on there :/

That until recently, was the number one complaint about GW. I buy nearly all of my stuff on e-bay. Now the number one complaint is uncertainty. Ninth edition has a lot of rumors circulating around and if half of them are true, we may have to become an Oldhammer forum :(.

Blimey, after reading your last post I went out to check out the rumours and it looks like I'm late for the boat in getting back into the game if any of these rumours have any substance. Hopefully there will be local clubs continuing with 8th.

Many people did not like 4th Ed D&D. Some of the fanbase quit and moved on to other games. Others shrugged and pointed out that the pages of their 3.5 books didn't all turn solid black so they kept playing the system they liked.

If GW screws over their fan base, I'm sure some will quit and some will stick with 8th edition. The latter will buy cheap second hand models and books from the former.

I too hope local clubs will be continuing with 8th.
