Ok like i said in my introduction English is my last launguange. LoL but seriously Im going to type this out word for word then im going to intrupt please fix my and explain in American (Texan )English: Uranon's Tbolt cast on 9 + If Successfully cast, the unit struck by a thunderbolt causing D6 Strength 4 hits with no armour save possible. Interpret If successful the unit in LOS gets hit by D6 (1-6 on a roll of one single Dice) Strenght with 4 hits No armour saves (ward can be used) ????? help me
Not entirely correct but close. Your caster must be able to see the target (even if it is on the other side of the table). You roll a die to determine how many hits you have (a D6). Once you have determined your hits, you will need to roll to wound as a STR4 hit. If there is an update to the spell (in a FAQ) I don't currently have it in front of me. *edit* Misread the interpretation.
"...causing D6 strength 4 hits" in Warhammer means D6 hits at a strength of 4. 4 hits at a strength of D6 would be "causing 4 strength D6 hits". The number is always written AFTER the characteristic it is refering to in warhammer.
Interesting and i though my English is bad im very happy to know that a entire company's Language skills are worse then mine.
If you're referring to Games Workshop I'm not sure why you'd say their English is bad. Their notation is pretty standard (from my point of view). I'll be the first to admit that the way their armor save rules are written (along with a few other rules) can definitely be confusing. I also edited my original reply to this thread, considering I misread the original interpretation.
lol just being a dick the way i read is left to right with periods and quotes and parenthesis for organisation. like i said they i read it was as follow i dont see in the BRB where it says that all D6 are = to hits not str. In 40k i do see this for str. So i assumed the same thing. if it is different thats fine. I just like to know. Also ive lost many a games for rolling str 2 and 1 .... with my 4 hits (like i read it) to me this seems to be a big reading error at my local GW and if people know this it will help new players out IE myself. I guess im a little pissed.
Would you interpret 6 STR4 hits as 4 STR6 hits? The only difference between that statement (6 STR4) is that instead of 6 of D6 in the spell's description.
