@Zenard That haul and if your like me that could be a daunting task and get left in a drawer (trust me I have been there) so got a tip for you, assemble all the tomb king models first (doing this will make you want to cry and go and live in a hole) then buy Army painter Skeleton bone spray and undercoat them all at once. You will be able to then finish them at a later date but you won't look at them and think "arghh got them to finish"
@Bowser We will see, already have a good amount of lizards to play with but you'll surely see some Tomb action in the future (but I'll try to not flood you with non lizardmen stuff). @Jorgik You have no idea, the bastard didn't even allow the tiniest amount of discount! @NIGHTBRINGER It will be a daunting task to complete but I will love every second of it! @Crowsfoot Bringing out the wise sage advice as usual, thanks man! I don't have enough space to have them all assembled but I will try to listen to you, probably gonna do big chunks at a time! Really gotta pick up my painting pace, never really painted whole units at a time~
Got some more stuff today and started to paint some TK's, just an extremely basic model but it's a start~ Wanted to try my hand at a really fast paint job that would suit whole units, pretty happy with the result. CC always appreciated! Also, this is what I received: 1 Skelleton Warriors box that I had planned on picking up from a local store 2 Melee Ushabti, found them on a Swedish hobby site cheaply 1 Tomb King with two set of arms (for conversions) 1 Tomb Guard Command in metal 1 (not in the picture though) 6th Edition Tomb Kings Army book (from 2003? Don't bother checking at the moment lol) And 1 Tiktaq-To Master of the Skies that I found on the same site as the Ushabti's (this one is gonna be so fucking fun to paint), also was a bit surprised since they labeled it as a spare bit and only Tiktaq-To himself not his mount but got the entire blister including Zwup. So I'm happy!
You´l manage in one afternoon... Also, i forgot ho tell you that you should watch out for mould lines on you models, they show a lot on your skeleton
So much Tomb King love. It's making me sad all over again. As for the colours on the Lizardmen: I really like the blue-pink contrast - it's unconventional and it works. It'll really make your army stand out more whilst looking good. I also quite like the "icey" design of the first skink post, however I think I'd appreciate it more if there was a more of a fade in colours - e.g. from dark blue/marine to white-blue, with some more colour on the skin (maybe as a wash?) or some such. I feel like it's going that way and just needs that extra leap.
@Jorgik TK's range from the easiest minis to paint to one of the hardest imo haha, great selection! And yeah, noticed the mold lines too late. Have not been as lazy with my other ones though. @Toltecatl Nah, probably just around 100... @mousekiller No idea actually! Have only attached one foot with weak glue on the ones I've assembled to far since I'm really torn on how I should base them. Not even sure if I'm going square or round. I'm doing a round base army since it's only for display not gaming but getting 40-80 round bases for my Warriors would be annoying so I'm thinking about just going square for them solely (especially since they are one of the only units I like stacked up as a regiment). @Slanputin Now that I found out that TK's have been discontinued I've been stocking up on them like crazy. Love the army so much! Been experimenting with my Skinks alot but I've not landed on a unit colour yet, leaning towards several smaler units though but we'll see!
@Toltecatl Yeah, GW is no longer making any of the Tomb Kings models, that's why I'm hoarding them now!
WHUUUUUT? do you know why? they're freakin' awesome… I mean, logically that would have to be because noone wants them anymore but i cant really imagine that. theyre among the best looking armies
Did you know I just got an email form GW saying that they are going to produce some of the "last chance section" models again because they sold out too fast? They can´t decide whether discontinue the models or not !!
That is a beautifully painted skeleton! Good luck painting the other hundred of them... Edit: I just found these guys on a random forum perusing session, you should check them out for continued inspiration; courtesy of "wappelious" over at James Wappel Miniature Painting: Spoiler: Trippy Tomb Kings SETTRA DOES NOT BOW!! just wow.
They didn't fit into the AoS lore, guess they're selling bad since the first reason can't be enough. @Jorgik Saw that and got a fucking heart attack, no Tomb Kings though, nor any of the Last Chance models that I really want... @Warden Thanks! Working on 7 atm including the one already painted, I know it's not the entire squad but you know, baby steps.
