Hey all at my local gaming club one of my mates has a vc army and i keep on losing. his 1000pts list is something like this. 3 vampire heroes and 3 blocks or minimum skeletons. At first it looks like a small army but then raise dead, raise dead a few rounds later he outnumbers me. could you help me make a list to beat this guy.

    Any help would be appreciated
    thanks

Try to fit in a Salamander or two into your list. They're good for dealing with those skeletons. Also, one thing I've found about the Vampires is that they suffer from what I like to call "Dead Snake Syndrome" - if you cut of the proverbial head, the proverbial body will die. So I would suggest that you concentrate on his Heroes first and take them out as early in the game as you can. Maybe a Skink Priest would help you out with that.

Heres the deal. Vampire Counts (undead in general, actually) have always been the most overpowered small-points-game army. Its just the way it is. You are losing because he has three mages in a 1000 points, and he raises stuff and you can't raise stuff. Play a real game. (2000-2500). If you cannot, take an Engine of the gods, and make the rest of your army the following --- 1-2 salamanders, like 3-4 units of skink skirmishers.
The rest of the points = units of 18 saurus with spears and full command OR one biggger unit (like, a huge one) with a scar veteran battle standard bearer with the "Cause Fear" banner.
Give Skink priest one dispel scroll and diadem, and save his pd. He won't be able to deal with the engine.
This army should be relatively tight.
