Artwork for my short story: Ruins of Copan Map Spoiler: MORE ART! (mostly WIP) Squato, the Lustrian Pygmy WIP sketch of four of the treasure-hunters meeting the Squire outside the Drunken Frog: Skuddi the dwarf, Shen Wu, Konrad, and Geraldo Signpost sketch WIP for potential future map, based on something out of Mordheim.
Oh so awesome! That map is great! And the four treasure hunters and the pygmy look pretty much how I puctures them! So good! That signpost is amazing! I want to build it!
It´s going to be so easy to know what to build for the (hopefully) coming terrain contest... Or too hard! Too many good ideas!
Inspired from Among the Dust, a humorous take on the wild west of Lustria- my idea for the mage-chief Sitting Frog Also here is something I was working on the past week: WIP teaser. You might be able to figure out what the top figure is based on the tail Spoiler: inspired by this piece of 40K art Eisenhorn and Cherubal
I still like the look of that Chief slann, but I am excited to see how this new poster turns out! Looking good already!
Full sketch: Canul the Chameleon and Zul-K'an the High Priest of Mutal (main lizardmen characters in my as yet unfinished short story Ten Little Treasure Hunters) Spoiler: closeups Canul Not entirely happy with Zul-K'an. I wanted to make his "frill" look like the head-crest from the Lustrian Campaign Book (think that awesome artwork of Tenehuanin). I will redraw him some other time. Hope you like the sketch!

Wow! This is incredible! Great details, it is always great to see someone take their army and give it a backstory, and even better when that person really brings those ideas to life, through art, conversions, and writing. (And now Cartography! ) You have so many rich ideas, and it just makes your wargaming miniatures really come to life! I am glad you share this with us! I am looking forward to more!
Wow extremely impressive might nick the concept - I've been avoiding doing it because looking at the lore maps of lustria there are specific points of note but fuck it they can have an previously uncatographised island or something besides since I've now read there are floating islands and tree forts it pretty much is inviting me to chuck my own locations into the mix - my fire crabs need a beach. Edit - Also i'm seriously considering making a chief slann based on your artwork lord knows Ihave enough to play around with
Updated picture, now with color. The High Priest and his Spy Again, not happy with the skink's green. Should have been more of a goblin green, but then again I only had 10 colored pencils to choose from. Love the chameleon's shape/line outline, color was an experiment. Also love the detail on his serpent blowpipe. Makes me want to get the Oxylotl mini and paint him up! Glyphs read "Mutal," the Temple City of my creation. I probably wont ever go fix it but I originally imagined the background of this picture being black (talking about outside the white square background immediately behind the figures) but that would take too long to color with my colored pencils. Overall, pretty good representation of the characters. Eventually I will create a new picture to represent Zul-K'an. Spoiler: close ups
start of a new project. Been churning out the art projects as my fluff-writing has been slow. Something else I learned while conducting research on dinosaurs. Carnosaur, specifically the group carnosauria, consists of the large predatory dinosaurs including Allosaurus and Giganotosaurus; they were a subgroup of the therapod family where our favorite T-rex is a member. Pardon the nerd rant. Just thought it was cool that the term carnosaur is actually a real thing.
So this one didn't turn out as planned or expected. Not happy with the rider. Will need to revisit this one after a later date. Supposed to be my saurus oldblood Smoke Frog on his carnosaur (the banners on his saddle are based on the ones from the WIP model I have going. Need to finish this guy too once I figure out exactly how I want the color scheme to look. Sijak K'ak, "Smoke Frog," Fire is Born. Saurus Oldblood of Mutal, general of the Jade Host. Image based on the following: Spoiler: art inspiration The dinosaur head and body come from two different images. The head is taken from a work from Joe Mad, who I am pretty sure works for Marvel comics based on the barbarian wolverine at the bottom of the picture. awesome t-rex Tried to model the saurus after the Death Dealer (Frank Frazetta) but it didn't work as planned. WIP shots of the process: Spoiler: WIP pictures After the first face I tried to redo the rider, not happy with his face, head, or general proportions. Also did a color image of the unlucky warmblood's heraldry: Decided this will be the heraldry of Sir Rupert of House Gaunt, Questing Knight. Fun drawing, enjoyed adding the skulls he has in his hands. Making a drawing look like an actual tabletop model was also enjoyable.
That's definitely part of it. His pose doesn't look right. I also don't like his face, looks too fake. I will try and look at pictures of actual lizards/dinosaurs for future attempts.
