Ok here the colors I used:
    For the skin:
    20170218_002035.jpg
After the wash with agrax I first did on layer of the basecoat and then did two layers with increased amounts of the lighter color... 3:2 and 2:3... fished with a wash with sepia... I'm thinking about drybrushing with a 1:4 mix and maybe pure flayed ones flesh later... lets see...
    For the scales:
    20170218_002059.jpg
Same as with the skin but using skrag brown for the mix instead of the base color... well on layer more than the skin and quite close to the result I wanted... no further drybrushing or so...
For the face and the belly:
    20170218_004532.jpg
Also quite the same as the skin... different mix... 1:1 and pure lothern blue...
    For the crest:
    20170218_002353.jpg
    And
    20170218_005208.jpg
Tried wet blending... used both colors as pure and a 1:1 mix of both...
A;)nd last but not least... the eyes:
    20170218_002318.jpg
Used pure warlord purple,a 1:1 mix of warlord and emperor(tyrant would that be... if I'm not wrong...), pure emperor's children and 1:1 mix of the pink and scar white...
    Feathers:
    20170218_002241.jpg
Basecoat and some accents were established before the washwith agrax... after that I took out my 0/5 brush and added some fine random lines on the feathers... the middle line was highlighted with one of the brighter colors...
    That's it so far...
By the way... decided to paint all feathers in a brighter tone... makes the blue head more prominent... genes and headdress will be silver... his staff will be hold... And I'm still unsure about the two feathers for the headdress... maybe reverse the paint scheme of the feathers on his back? Or only red? Or do them all the same way? ... quite sure is that I won't add another color... but who knows? ... what do you think about green? ... ;)

    More progress...
    More words...
So I found this thing here...
    20170222_231420.jpg
It's the flame of the unused left arm of my rune Lord... just the flame as one can see... gave me the idea to use it as kind of arcane bolt or magical flame for this guy here
    20170222_231448.jpg
You can see I also changed the headdress design... he's now having a horn instead of the double feathers... also did the silver including the shading and kind of finished the feathers...
    20170222_231547.jpg
More progress, when I finished building that light box... ;)

    What is best in life?

To crush your exams. See them driven before you. And to hear the lamentations of the professors.

Well... no big update... just did some sculpting on my slann' S face and the razordons... pictures will follow...

By the way... If I had to mention the words I was typing most of the time in the last week it would be:
    "Lumberjack"
    "Cheese steak jimmy's"
    "Robin hood"
    And
    "Rock on"
... so who knows the game? ;)

    Pics...
    20170309_230932.jpg 20170309_230910.jpg
One would not guess, that this one started as a ball of used aluminum foil... or even a pear shaped thing out of used aluminum foil...;) and this one isn't as much too big as the other one I started earlier...
On the first razordon I only smoothed out the headplate and the part between the first pair of spikes on his back...
    20170309_231238.jpg 20170309_231404.jpg 20170309_231356.jpg
As you can see... the second one list all the spikes on his back... was thinking about a redo here and had a more "aerodynamic" design in mind... maybe three lines of bigger spikes... one in the middle and the other two on the sides, where the scales end... the greenstuffed ones...

Hope I find some serious amount of hobby time during the next week... this weekend is prophesied to be quite busy... my wife seems to have insights I don't... ;):nailbiting:

Little bit of progress... here is my selfmade slann... still heavily wip... though now with the capability of seeing three-dimensional and to smelling /breathing:
    20170312_230810.jpg 20170312_230805.jpg 20170312_230600.jpg 20170312_230759.jpg
One might recognize a significant reduction of fingerprints compared to earlier projects...
I'm a bit sceptical about the mouth of this guy... I think the upper lip should be higher... closer to the nostrils... that would lead to redoing the whole chin area, too... or his mouth really wide open...

As somewhat of a self proclaimed authority on slann I say the mouth in combination with the positioning etc makes him seem like an old wise chineeseman / alien in frog form - I mean this in a complimentary way - I think its well done I wanna see how it turns out for sure. :D

Too much... ET for me. Dunno why but that's the first thing that came to mind.
Perhaps if you move the eyes a bit more to the sides and put the mouth more forward...

It definitely looks like this slann is living up to his extraterrestrial roots right now. I am curious about your vision for the slann and the razordon, looking forward to seeing how they turn out!

Agreed with both of you @Warden and @Aginor...

Changed the mouth a little bit. Still a bit alien like but more frog like now I think... and I added some ear rims (or how to call it)... Will have to scratch out the rim that is now visible in his mouth... next reasoning is about giving him teeth or a mighty frogs tongue... we'll see after scratching... ;)
    Here the pictures

That's why I'm doing the slann... practice... it's a rather large figure so the basics can be done quite easily... but you can put some details on it to practice the tiny stuff... ;)
And and important thing is to take small steps... something @Rikard often preached and I just can approve...
Talking about him... Still got a blood bowl skink in the shelf I need to present... but tomorrow... it's late here in Germany... need some sleep before getting up early tomorrow...:hurting::hungover::oldman:
