    The Beginning

In all the Mortal Realms, stories of the Seraphon persist. Celestial Daemons that come from the stars and wreak vengeance on the black-hearted and corrupt! They are angelic beings, creatures of pure Order. It is only fitting they be placed atop a pillar of worship.

Yet the Asoteks discovered the Seraphon long before the found their way to the Mortal Realms.

The World that Was may have been obliterated, and the Great Plan destroyed with it. But the plaques that spoke of it all were only fragmented, scattered throughout the Time and Space. Golden meteorites glittered across the skies of the Realms as they were born. They littered the worlds, the vast knowledge of the World that Was, the Great Plan, the Slann, and the Seraphon lay amid ruins, wreckage, dirt, and ash.

Yet in the years that passed, tribes of men found the shards.

These stones were magical, infused with knowledge and radiating the stuff of creation itself. Many coveted them for ill deeds. Others sought them to lead their people into an age of innovation.

All that was had was War amid the turmoil that was the Mortal Realms during the Time of Chaos. It raged for hundreds of years, until one tribe stood tall, and mighty, crushing a dozen others to claim their shards.

A Plaque was made whole again.

That tribe was the Asotekas, a savage people who read the skies and sacrificed their enemies to the twin tailed constellation of Dracothian. The Great beast took little heed of them. Yet with the newfound wisdom, language, and history laid before them, the Asotekas grew exponentially.

Magic, Astronamy, alchemy in it's bases form. Great warriors arose, cities flourished and they traveled to other realms to spread the word of the Old Ones and their Messengers. For a time it was prosperity and growth, the height of their power as they searched for further Plaque Shards.

    The People
    Warscrolls go Here.

Heroes: Those that stand above and apart from their kin, be it alone or atop a Behemoth.

Units: Anything that comes in a unit that is not an Oddity.

Asoteka Braves: Light Infantry, meant to be the chaff that separates. Used to great effect in numbers and with support though.

Huanchi Warriors: I wanted them to be in between heavy and light infantry, more of an irritating foe that could harm you should you try to focus them down.

Chotec Raiders: These were what I could come up with for Heavy infantry. I drew some parallels with Temple Guard, and made them similar in some ways, but they could likely take a beating with hero support and cut some legs out from under the enemy.

Ripbeak Riders: Fast cavalry that's meant to harrass and annoy the hell out of the enemy. Whether it backline, or flanks. I didn't want them too good in combat, but Terrorbirds are scary and have big honkin claws/beaks.

Behemoths: Monsters, Massive Warmachines, and generally anything that is huge.

Idol of the Vengeful Sotek: I had many ideas for behemoths for this army, but one that stuck with me was the manifestation of an Old One. Not a pure being, but one made, created. And as I'm going to have a few more 'golem/totem' units in the army, I figured why not start with their biggest one first? I'ts meant to get in, crush the enemy, and buff the army. I feel it does that. I modeled a good bit of it after the Rogue Idol of Gork from the Monstrous Arcanem.

Oddity: Monstrous Infantry, Regular Warmachines, etc.
Wargolems of Protection/Wrath: These could be two separate units or alternatively only one, should said units pass inspection. I wanted a buffing unit, that was fairly tough, but if removed, dealt some blows to the army. As has been pointed out, Golems are sorely lacking from the range, and adding more will not hurt at all.

    The Lands
    Art Goes Here
    Artwork:

    Character and Unit Descriptions:
Asoteka Braves - Young and strong men or women, the Braves are the front line. Their bodies are sparsely decorated with small trinkets or feather fetishes. Leather sandals and ornamental loincloths/waistcoverings are worn during battle. The Lore Brave is an older Lore Brave, singled out by a headdress of short feathers. Often he is also festooned with a breastplate of shaped Ur-Gold, showing the face of the god that the unit has dedicated itself to. The Firetotem that many carry into battle is a serpent of fire in sharp angles and shapes. Much like the Seraphon battle standards, it is the image of Sotek.

Huanchi Warriors - Much the same as Braves, though the Huanchi Warriors have taken to wearing the hides of great Lizard beasts as suits, with their heads made into helmets in a parody of the great Saurus that they worship. Thin Ur-Gold plates are hammered into these suits to compliment the scales blade-turning properties. The Leader wears a crown of White feathers along the crest of the reptilian skull he uses as a helmet. The Guide of the unit often wears a mask of wood and feathers, shaped to appear as a Chameleon skink.

Chotec Raiders - Standing apart from their younger, and less experienced kin, the Raiders wear the most Ur-Gold armor, appearing as radiant heroes. Often the standard armor is a large armored necklaces that cover their shoulders, the majority of their chest, and a swathe of their upper back, as well as ornamental bracers that extend pas the elbow and shin-guards that do much the same at the knee. Ornamental loincloths/waistcoverings and headdresses are common, with heavy sandals for protection are fastened to the anklets. The Fire Brave wears a robe beneath the necklace and a breastplate exalting Chotec. The Blazing Banner they carry Looks like a grinning sun with the face of Chotec.

Ripbeak Riders - The Riders are garbed much the same as a Skirmisher, though they wear heavy kilts with some Ur-gold plates sewn into it. Their mounts are bipedal avians, standing 6' at the shoulder, with a neck that extends another 2'. It's head is large, angular, and it has forward vision, unlike most avians who may only focus their vision to the sides. It's beak is large, hooked, and made to pierce flesh. A crest of wild plumage can extend or settle into the neck. Feathers cover the majority of the creature's body, though it's legs from the 'ankle' down are bare and scaly. The Wide feet are tipped in talons made for gripping and tearing. It's wings are small and useless, though often brightly colored on the undersides. The most unusual feature of this creature is tail of it, that appears to be partially covered in feathers along the dorsal ridge and fan out to a bright display at the tip.

Idol of the Vengeful Sotek: Very similar to the below picture (left), though the wings would be vestigial and not allow flight. They would be like hoods or for display.

Golems of Wrath/Protection: The stand fifteen feet in height, looking much like blocky, stone lizardmen. Carved with runes, and with a great Obsinite wheel upon their back showing three symbols (one for each God they confer the blessings of) emblazoned in gold or jewels. Go wild.

    Weapon and Armor Concepts:
Most weapons are made from fired Obsinite, a substance similar to obsidian of the World that Was. Often, Ur-Gold is used as decoration on weapons, while long hafts and replaceable shafts are made of hard Snakewood readily available in the jungles of the Asoteka homelands.

Swords often varied on a single design depending on the wielder, who often made and maintained his own weaponry.

    Shields
used by the majority of Asoteka, but the main body is covered in scales of Stardrakes. They are not built as Seraphon shields are for being used as a weapon easily. They may be at times, but the striking power is negligible when compared to a Sauras strike. Depending on the unit, the shield design may vary. Huanchi Warriors for example would remove the chimes.

    The Laws
Rules and Such will go here.
Notable Rules: Rules that are prevalent in the army/faction.

Poison/Venom of the Twin-Tailed Viper: All attacks made with Poison-tipped or Poison-coated weapons may double the damage they deal on a to wound roll of 6 (5 for Venom) or more.

I'm putting this up as a seperate battletome, though it can easily be merged with Seraphon to be the Followers of the Old Ones. Got some Warscrolls to post here in a minute. Mostly just basic units.

Asotekas are the Mortal Humans that follow the plans of the Old Ones, fragments of which were found in the Mortal realms. I may mix other races in at some point, but they would be specific units/factions within the Asoteka.
